Obviously Floyd is a very skilled operator, but how does he compare strength wise with Cotto, Magarito, Clottey etc?

I've always thought he was a small welterweight...especially considering guys like Margo, Shane, PW, Clottey...

Hes not as strong as Mosley or Margo but its not really important cause his style is based on speed and agility not strength.

He's a small WW but has underrated strength.

When it comes to Mayweather Jr its not about strength alone. He is not a one punch KO artist but his ability to use his whole body and time his shots make his punches strong enough.Floyd does have more than half his wins by KO,with 40 pro fights under his belt.

I thought Mayweather looked bigger than he ever has at WW against JMM. He's put on some muscle and no welterweight right now is going to manhandle him in a clinch or anything although somebody like SSM is clearly stronger.

  13. In what way is he small? He's 5'8" which is average height for a WW and it's not like he's particuarly light.

He probably weighed at least 155 against Marquez.

I rewatched the Hatton fight yesterday and you are right he has bulked up since then.

He looked big in that fight because he was fighting a blown up LW. When he fights Mosley, Shane will be clearly bigger.
