He was frustrated, lost his discipline in the heat of battle and committed a foul, hitting Dirrell when he was down. He ****ed up but it happens, it's a very common foul. He didn't endear himself with his comments after the fight, but again, it's understandable. He's never lost a fight before and doesn't know how to react. He feels Dirrell acted. Not every guy can be as classy as Kostya Tszyu or Jack Dempsey in defeat. I'm not overly critical of him.
You obviously understand nothing. AA has always been an easy KO for Kelly. Lujuan Simon and Andre Dirrell both split his guard. Neither punch as hard as Kelly. Upset that AA ducked Kelly by demanding too much money? Maybe....
You are completely absurd. I understand defending a hometown hero, but jesus christ you pavlik kids are crazy.
I've followed this for a long time. Dirrell out classing AA was no surprise to me. The only question was if he could hold it together. AA would go into his shell against Kelly and back to the ropes. Kelly would split his guard, go to the body and then split his head before AA had his 4 'figure out' rounds in. Kelly has the reach and range over AA just like Dirrell and he hooks off of his jab. He is naturally left handed. You think AA's face looked like a pizza after Direll got to him?
I would like to see these two fight again, Abraham has to get aggressive earlier in the fight to beat a guy as slick as Dirrell. I still think Abraham had a good chance of KO'ing Dirrell in that fight had he not been DQ'd, as he was starting to connect with some good shots from the 9th round on and knocking Dirrell down in the 10th.
Did you watch the fight? For you to give Abraham that many rounds shows that you're seeing what you want to see or you never saw the fight and you're just chiming in. Re-watch the 11th round. Dirrell was clearly controlling it. CLEARLY. Also Re-watch the KD in the 7th round. Its not what you described. Plenty of fighters striking opponents while their down doesn't make it any better especially when they show such little class for their indefensible actions. Abraham getting a Draw is laughable. He needed a KO to win. It was simply out of reach on the scorecards. He did **** that one up, and Andre Dirrell's victory.
atsch Ridiculous waste of keyboarding, arguing with Abraham fans about what happened. I have never witnessed a more blind following in my life. Abraham won 2 at most 3 Rounds out of 10, and was KD'd. **** the what ifs and ****. He was KD'd. Fight was 97-92 or 98-91 at the time of the stoppage. And Dirrell was controlling Round 11 at the time. Anyone arguing that Abraham could have pulled out a points victory if not for the foul is a ****ing fool.
AA won 2-3 rounds, the score cards reflect it correctly in my opinion. The problem is that it was NO big surprise - he was losing to some clearly inferior fighters in comparison with Dirrell before. Hardly a domination many make it out to be. I don't think Dirrell 'controlled' the 11th. I think he was running a lot, which is not surprising since he was decked the round before. Even at the time of the slip he had a jab in his face. Not much control there. Saying AA was not coming on in the last two rounds and that Dirrell would have cruised to the victory in the last 4 minutes is just like saying that AA was equal on point going into the 10th - delusional.
By the end of the fight AA was no longer being dominated, but Dirrell did so for the 7 rounds. Personally, I gave AA the 8th and 10th rounds, with the 11th still to be determined. And although he was no longer being dominated, he was hopelessly behind, needed the KO and he knew it. I don't think he was looking to hurt Dirrell beyond KOing him to win the fight. It was an error on his part and he was punished accordingly. I agree with much of this......especially the part about people seeing what the want to see. There is no way AA was anywhere close to even. Hell, the German dude who's scorecard they kept showing had AA down 3 rounds(which was off, but closer by 2 rds than anyone elses, meaning he gave AA every possible round he had a prayer in.) So what does that tell you. The KD in the 7th was a cuff/push with the inside of Dirrell's glove/wrist. It was a good call by the ref to disallow it.
