Eh, I don't have a problem with it. Not like he becomes the WBA mandatory now, although with the way they're run, nothing would really surprise me at this point.

To play devil's advocate, at least the guy with the 9-16 record can say he fought the ex-heavyweight champion of the world.

That's the way I see it. It's not like it took up a TV date or something like that. He's just easing his way back into action, knocking off some rust. There was some "disgraceful" actions taken in boxing the past few days, but Rahman taking a stay busy fight wasn't one of them.

So Rahman is a disgrace for shaking off some rust? How many fighters, especially heavyweights, take this route? Lots.

Word is Rahman will be having another fight in April. I would like to think he will fight someone with a better record. Also he showed up on this card last minute which could be part of the reason he found a guy who was 43 and with a crappy record.

And if Rahman fights Tua again and fights the way he did when he got that BOGUS draw, he wins a UD. Rahman came in at 260 and still boxed circles around Tua in 2003.

Rahman also seems serious as well. He was 258 on fight night...but was 300 entering camp. Word is he already went back to the gym today to resume training.

  5. i've seen rahman work out. that mu****a is nothing impressive. I don't understand how he even go the fights that he did. There are a 100,000 other heavy weights out there that **** on him.

He's looked impressive to me a few times. Did you not see him spanking a prime Tua? Throw a 1,000 plus punches against Toney and get a bogus draw?

Rahman's biggest problem is he doesn't fight to his strengths (using his jab more, setting up the right, starts brawling when it's not smart too) His focus also suffers big time as well. Those are what kept him from being a much better fighter.

Vargasfan, that is a perfect description of Rahman. At his best he was very good, but we didn't get to see that guy often.

I liked the guy a lot after he blasted Lewis in the 5th years ago.

Let's examine the losses due to lack of focus.

Both Maskaev losses. First match he was so far ahead on the cards he only needed to win 1 round on one of the 2 judges who had him ahead 5-2. Doesn't train for more than 3 weeks and gets drawn into trading punches and KO'd.

Rematch. Pummeling him with the jab and right hand but is to busy trying to KO him all night leaving him exhausted. Gets KO'd in the 12th.

Ruiz fight. Fell into Ruiz' trap. Abandoned what he does best.

Holyfield fight. Same as Ruiz fight. Brawled with a guy who is a better in fighter than himself. Also a bit of unluck with the headbutt. I had Rahman losing 5-3 (including partial round)

His loss to Tua was a bad stoppage, point blank. Also Tua whacked him after the bell.

The only fights I felt he lost outright were the Lewis rematch and the Klitschko fight. Where both fights he was not the better man.

Both of Rahman's draws were BS. Should have won both matches.

I don't know why people hate Rahman. He's almost always in exciting fights. And to be an exciting HW in this day and age is rare.

Who cares? I mean honestly who the **** cares? Rahman has no belt and isn't affecting the division in any way by fighting these bums. Now if he somehow gets his sweaty hands on a Title belt and then fights this garbage then we have a problem, until then it isn't nothing worth anybodies attention.

If I was a promoter I would have all sorts of fights like this to give the fans exciting knock outs. Especially pick opponents with suspect chins. The fans would love it.

    Lamon Brewster vs Bum
    David Tua vs Bum
    Rahman vs Bum
    Sam Peter vs Bum

    What a card!

  15. his punches generally have no snap to them, he is not accurate at all. That mu****a threw 1000 punches but was inaccurate as a grenade launcher. His punches always look pushed and he has no good movement. He is just a baltimore brawler with no skills. His claim to fame is a lucky shot against lennox. dude is asscheeks. I kno mu****as want the heavyweight division to comeback and all but settling for scrubs like rahman ain't the way to go.
