I cant beleive some people are actually backed Abraham after that bitchly cowardly move of his. If you get caught flush unexpectingly you are gona feel it simple as that. Regardless of Dirrells reaction why the **** should he get up in a dazed state amnd risk getting Koed?! Abraham is a *****

 

During the early hours of Sunday I wasn't awake enough to work out whether it was a "dive" or not. I've seen it a few times now and I'm convinced that Dirrell made the most of it BUT Abraham shouldn't have given him the oppotunity to do so.

 

This is the way I see it.

A DQ? Most probably.

Did Dirrell milk it? After seeing all the angles I think so. Abraham is a gigantic puncher but it only clipped Dirrell really, and he showed a bit more grit in this fight then we've previously seen of him.

If Dirrell did fake being really hurt than that is an insult to those who have been injured in the ring. Putting on shaky mannerisms and acting whacked out is a deplorable act IMO.

Dirrell has shown *****s in his mental armour. Although he has some impressive attributes, and could be potentially formidable, starting with the constant going to his knees whenever in danger against Froch and now possibly faking being ****ed up......odd behaviour, I don't think he actually likes fighting.

Good thing about both Dirrell and Abraham losing their '0' is that they've had/will have the chance to get right back in there with someone good. Boxing fans need to see it's the chase for the '0' that is hurting boxing, these Super Six combatatants are doing the right thing.

It was good acting, but the shaking was distateful.

BTW, I'm not ruling out a Julian Jackson-esque delayed reaction, Abraham does hit with massive force WITHOUT hitting you with the brunt of the punch, his weird K.O of Ayala with a short uppercut that barely seems to register says all you need to know.

But there's just something about Dirrells two big fights thus far; both times he has been questioned for some of his tactics/nuances.

I think Ward will beat him, but that it will be a very interesting matchup. Despite their history, I can't see them holding back, Dirrell might well need the points.

 

that ref wants the back of his legs slapping for not calling a knockdown after dirrell was sent skidding on his arse in the tenth.even though dirrell was comfy in front on the cards his vibe sfter the knockdown was definately "oh **** i hope he doesn`t catch me with that booming right again".this definately influenced his decision making when he was hit while down.abraham is a dickhead though.

I thought he was exagerating after the punch, which was a DQ-able offence but I've seen hometown guys get away with it frequently, including David haye against Giacobbe Fragomeni.

I've got no sympathy for Abraham for being a dirty cheating *****, but I really think Dirrell decided on the spot to make the most of it and ensure the fight was stopped. The motivation was obvious, yes he was a mile ahead on points but he'd been running the last couple of rounds and knocked down legitimately in round 10, he'd obviously done his best work and was waning, Abraham was coming on strong as he is known to do in late rounds, and he remains dangerous right to the last second thanks to his power, the Taylor fight being a perfect example. Why chance a last minute stoppage? The way he went down on a "delayed reaction" didn't look convincing to me, usually if you're knocked out you don't gentily lie down, then move your hands from your face to a splayed position.

 

Not convinced by AD's reaction. I think like others on this thread he exaggerated the impact of AA's punch. Abraham was rightfully disqualified but hopefully this will discourage Dirrell from taking a knee anytime he's under pressure. There's different types of cheating and Dirrell is hardly innocent himself.

 

It was fake? Prove it. How can people say **** like that as if they're 100% sure? Anyway, whether it was or not, the punch should not have been thrown. I'm an AA fan but he ****ed up big time on this one. Dirrell had every right to make the most of it, not that I'm saying he did. I just hope Dirrell is okay, props to him, he did well against Froch but was a little too naive but he learned his lesson this time and made sure he was gonna get the decision. I've become a fan.
