Mentioned briefly in another thread but not sure if too many got to see it, Cool Willie Kickett is back and in training at Harrys Gym.
Thats excellent to hear, can't wait to see Willie back in action. He has the god given talent to go a long way if he works hard
I 'scene' it somewhere else that his former opponent - Adrian Broener was arrested and charged with pinching a handbag from a bird and stealing the $40 contents. ****ing hell, has he moved on to big things! Good luck for Willie if he continues back in the gym and get's it back on track. I must say, in my opinion a clash of an 'on his game' Willie Kickett vs. Will Tomlinson holds great appeal for mine. Good clash of styles makes for a great Aussie match-up. Again, best of luck for Willie on the road back.
No mate in my humble opion he doesn't have a world class chin, the answer to that is to not get hit often enough to make it a problem. He has the speed and reflexes to miss punches but he really needs to learn some defensive techniques.
I dont care for Kickett but if i were in his inner circle or managing him i would get him to sydney and train at the mouths gym. One thing i cant even bag on Mundine about is his work ethnic and lifestyle of no drugs/alcohol.Also Mundine is a defensive/counter puncher which is the exact style Kickett would need to master if he is to become anything other than a domestic level fighter.
Or he could stay at Harrys and get sparring with the likes of Chris John, Jackson Asiku and Ben Rabah.
The sparring is good but I agree with Ozzie. Theres no point in having all the sparring if you are not living the life out of the ring. Sounds like at this point good sparring isn't what Kickett needs. Its a lifetstyle lesson. And Choc is always in shape and doesn't touch alcohol/cigarettes/drugs.
Hasnt worked thus far. You completely missed the point i was trying to make..Mundine would be a good influence to a promising but lacking 100% commitment aboriginal fighter like Kickett.. But as i mentioned before i couldnt really give a toss.Stay in WA.
Yeah the sparring he would have access to at Harrys would be nothing short of world class I think, what are the facilities like there Leon?
