Hmmm.... Been thinking for a while about this... Kessler lost to 2 fighters, Calzaghe and Ward.. They where both to fast and slick... So thats Kesslers only 2 defeats. If Froch should beat Kessler it WONT be because Froch has better speed and are more slick fighter than Kessler.. If Froch beats Kessler he will do it with a brutal nonstop forward run win. Let me put it this way.. Andrade could not do that.. Kessler STILL has a suberb jab, very good defence and suberb counter skills vs a non faster opponement with little boxing skills.. I cant see how Kessler will loose here.. I think that Froch is the 1 to be chased arround in the ring this time and not the other way arround..
froch is going to try to run at him and try to club him down and get him against the ropes and punch him in the back of the head and hit him low. etc. kesslers going to have to keep a glove in his face.
In his optimum condition, Kessler would make his bout with Froch turn out like the one with Andrade. I have serious doubts now about his mental makeup and confidence going into that fight...
Prime Kessler beats Froch easily, very wide UD or late stoppage on accumulation of punches. However, Kessler does seem to give up a bit when the going gets tough so if Froch can keep him under pressure and win some rounds he might find a way to take it. I do doubt whether he has the style or skills to do so, though.
I'm picking Kessler by decision, but Froch can certainly win this if he turns it into a brawl which he's had a knack of doing.
Go watch the Andrade fight again. See how much quicker and sharper Kessler was. Add to that that his confidence is completely shot and you can see how Froch could steamroll him. I'm picking Froch by tko.
Everyone is comparing Froch to Andrade. Different styles man. Andrade maraudes forward shipping punishment. Froch has the ability to fight behind the jab and change tactics if necessary. I'm pretty sure that Froch noted how Calzaghe hurt Kessler to the body, and will stop Kessler with a liver shot in round 8.
In my opinion and this just from a my personal stand point. But Kessler isn't all that difficult to figure out. A good game plan from my man Carl and i think Kesslers out of there his last 3 opponents seem like much more of a technical headache than Kessler ever has. Its not like Kessler use much head movement. I go for Carl mid to late rounds
You are talking about Carl Froch here aren't you? I haven't missed his more talented brother Sugar Ray Froch who is stepping in to fight Kessler in his place? Seriously, Froch is very, very limited, very slow and very easy to hit. If Kessler is 75% of the fighter he was 3-4 years ago then he beats the bejesus out of Froch.
too bad fight camp 360 is not showing us anything going on.... the fight camp and training for example. It would be interesting to see how he is ad******g with his new trainer jimmy montoya. http://www.myboxingfans.com/2010/01/mikkel-kesslers-new-trainer-speaks/
