With Setanta showing the BHop and Roy Jones jnr fight do any of you know if this is going to be a regular thing from Setanta or a 1 off. I got rid of Setanta when they went tits up but have Setanta Ireland and they have a replay on Sunday night so that will do me at the moment. If Setanta were to show 2-3 fights every month from the US then I would be interested in getting it back in.

was talking to Timsy there and he reckons he is fighting on May 15? plus the last peters press conference the head of RTE sport said that over 250,000 tuned in to watch Lee live. SO RTE certainly would be interested in showing the fight. He would get a crowd in Limericak surely? Unless something bigger came along and Lee not Peters has opted against the fight? Bob Arum was saying he wanted to sign him last week?

But i think every Irish promoter lost money on shows last year. We could be in for a domestic lean spell. Less shows means less fights for fighters. The North could be our saving grace as things seem to be going well up there. plus with british titles they have the option of Sky.I think they pay 40k for a british title fight which im sure RTE and I know Setanta cant afford!!!

Paddy must know what the Lee act is???

I know this may seem bold but I think McCloskey stops Branco inside 7 rounds.

A bit of an odd comment, you do know Branco has moved up to Welterweight ?(where he lost a vacant European title fight to Matthew Hatton), surely you're thinking of Giuseppe Lauri.

No Setanta havent dropped him, they just wont be putting any studio around this fight as its on late and it doesnt make financial sense for them to have a whole studio crew on all night when they already have a crew on all day. If the fight involved an Irish fighter or was earlier in the evening, they would definately want Buncey fronting it. They are just going to plug into the American feed from 2am for this one.

I am sure that they would like to, whether these fights are available and make financial sense for them is another thing though. Remember they nearly went out of business a matter of months ago so they have to be careful in how they spend their cash. However why dont you contact them and the more enquiries they get for boxing the better!

Do Setanta still hold the rights to the Top Rank fights in Ireland? If they do I would resign up with them straight away. You wouldnt think it would cost a lot of money for the rights in Ireland for the fights from America.
