Ah, and I wonder about the first one. So, one ATG got a decision over him in what you perceive his peak weight and age after how many world champions he'd fought? Of course it was his fourth weight class. I guess that's subjective. I don't think he was the same hitter at welter but that's just me. I hate even arguing for the guy because he's such a promoter ******* but I can't see people even insinuating that he wasn't a great fighter on this thread. I find it absurd. And if we want to talk about Sturm, in terms of thinking it's an unofficial win, let's talk Trinidad. He clearly beat Trinidad and was robbed. Trinidad-great fighter, in his prime age and weight class. As far as I know. And made to look clueless.

EXACTLY, **** all this "in retrospect" ****.............

I've long since realized that Oscar was just a product of his "good looks" and the Hype machine, and I'm not hating, just don't try to say stupid **** like he's an ATG or something....

DAMN the names on his resume, how did he fare:

    1. Tito Trinidad- He LOST.......Yeah he outboxed him for a portion, but ran like a *****.
    2. Shane (2x) - He LOST to a lightweight moving up
    3. BHOP - He LOST............fake ass bodyshot
    4. Mayweather - He LOST
    5. Pacquaio - He LOST and was made to quit by a midget...

He lost 6 fights to the best "IN PRIME" fighters he fought....**** that Chavez and Whitaker ****, EVERYTIME he encountered a "PRIME" elite threat, he LOST.

Didn't have good right hand........Who did he EVER hurt with the right hand.........

His best WINS of the past 10 years were Mayorga and Vargas, AFTER Tito had already took their "chins" with him....

Just didn't see it with this guy, other than the Ike Quartey fight....

Oscar also fought Mosley's fight. He wanted to war after the Trinidad situation, thought he was cut out of the decision because people wanted a war. He fought his next couple of fights in war mode and lost the Mosley fight. I think Oscar's power was all there but he left out his boxing skills in that fight and it cost him. Oscar's power was always best when he was at range and on his toes and coming after doing work with his jab.

Boxing fans are spoiled children. Oscars a ****ing legend man. So is mayweather and mosley. Soon as you start losing they get rid of you.
why you think now a days when people start training and wanting to be a fighter, there practicing arm bars and triangles instead of Lead rights and left hooks

Ocsar was a beast. The people who say he was overrated need to watch more boxing, and need to stop listening to other peoples opinions. De la Hoya will be more appretiated in a good few years time. New fans to the sport didn't see the best of him.

Calzaghe and Mayweather brought back the Marciano myth and everyone believes in it now.

    Sucks.

seems like everyone lost whatever respect they had for him before and after the trinidad fight. It was a mania.

I still enjoy his fights to this day... the punishments of mayorga and vargas
the case study of him and mosley.... a decent job against mayweather

you kind of either love him or hate him.

I think he was a great fighter thats not even debatable but in terms of where to rank him i still dont know where to place him due to all the controversial wins/losses he had in his career.

When a fighter is undefeated its usually because his professional career was protected up until that point and they keep his 0 so he can enter the world class era of his comp a marketable figure but then the 0 usually goes. A fighter with DLH's comp is in no way gonna retain that 0.

Yes he was. 1992 Olympic gold medalist. From that point the sky was the limit for this East LA kid. All but 2 of his defeats could have gone either way. Fought the best out there.

Uliuli, try not to wet your pants when you see this thread.

  14. mosley did.

  15. JC Chavez was only big because of his name. Not because he was a real threat to oscar. JCC was had to come to the ring using a damn walker in that fight. Oscar lost to pernell who was on the slide of his career also. Yes you are sho'nuff blinded mu****a.
