You keep repeating this childish comment over and over, so instead of resorting to that, rub your two brain cells together, form a decent argument and watch me rip it to shreds.

I don't think Mayweather can do it even tho PW could. Understand please, it's basically a question in limits of size, not in terms of skill alone. There is a border, a line where and if you pass it, you can't perform as well whether b'cause your body gets too tight or your feet get to heavy or your opponent's punches get too heavy. I have seen close that Hoya-Mayweather fight and Floyd was definitely strong and packed a good punch at 154 but he was smaller and he couldn't challenge Hoya physically... Pavlik is bigger and longer and lose at 160 pounds whereas Floyd would have to absorb punches and not just take em, roll with his punches and side step, shoulder roll all fight long. Not possible.

I'm sure your man would be happy enough to continue calling out and claiming he's getting ducked by another welterweight, instead of taking on some real challenges at 160 or getting his arse-whopped at 168 by his daddy Bute.

Is this thread for real? I don't know why I am even entertaining such a stupid thread but I'm, here now so I might as well/

People somehow automatically assume Pavlik is some bum that any decent defensive boxer can easily handle now that he has lost to future HOF'er Hopkins.
Hopkins is a bigger fighter than Pavlik and stylistically very awkward.

Pavlik punches as hard as any of the super middle's, has a tremendous work rate and has a ridiculous size advantage over Floyd.

Pavlik's chin is solid too, none of Floyd's counters will bother him whatsoever.

Add all this on top of Pavlik's relentless work rate and Floyd Mayweather Jr will be out for the count within six rounds. Pavlik has KO'd almost everyone he has fought at MW, you think he won't be hurt a WW? It's absurd.

Kelly came into his most recent camp at 185 from added upper body muscle. Reportedly he has more snap in his punches now than he has had in a while. He is a "solid 185" according to reports. He wouldn't have to land many.

How is size an asset if you can't use it?

The main thing you have to mention, is that Pavlik could have 20lbs on Mayweather, but he isn't the type of fighter who would be able to use that because another 'asset,' his reach, means that he cannot fight effectively on the inside. He has never shown this ability and doesn't even fight well at mid-range either.

There are three ranges in boxing. Inside, as perfected by Armstrong etc.. Mid-range as perfected by Tyson etc.. Long rage as perfected by Arguello etc..

Which of those three can Pavlik do? Long. Can he do the others? No. He lacks the speed and agility to fight from mid-range and his arms are too long to fight on the inside, because he is completely incapable of short hooks or uppercuts.

Which range bothers PBF? In every career fight I've seen of his, the problem he has is mid-range and then inside, because his defence isn't primed for that, just like Toney's wasn't. If you fight these guys up close, they will struggle to pick the punches off, especially in bunches.

Who has ever troubled Mayweather from range? Nobody. They use their jabs to get inside on him, but they don't beat him from range because you can't. He has too much footwork and body movement to really get caught by long punches, which Pavlik throws. Not to mention he picks off many, rolls with them or straight up blocks them.

Size is a positive as much as it can be a negative. Fighting guys with no movement, Pavlik's size is an advantage. Fighting guys who can move, it works against him. For Mayweather, size is an advantage if you can get up close and enforce that strength, but if you have to fight him at range with lesser speed, he will turn your positive into a negative.

This above all else. We would see a repeat of Floyd and his entourage's exit after the 'event' where he 'broke' Big Show's nose. Running would take on new meaning and Uncle Roger would be standing ringside with a 45 trying to bounce bullets off of Kelly's ass to prove Kelly was taking a-side meth.

Good, because there is no precedent for him landing many.

Mayweather makes faster, better punchers miss. Pavlik struggles to land against guys who don't stand in front of him.

You're a joke. You have absolutely no knowledge of boxing. Read post #96 and form an intelligent response or stop ruining my thread with your condescending nonsense. Better still, go to another thread and blindly defend Pavlik to nauseating levels, like the fanboy you are.

Fine. Go start an e-petition to have Floyd call Kelly out. Make it soon. He'll be moving up. I doubt Floyd shares your confidence. As I say in each of these seemingly monthly threads, if Floyd thought he could take Kelly's lineal championship, he would do so. I haven't heard him EVER mention Pavlik. End of. Your delusions aren't Floyd's delusions.

How about another strike, like a Kelly Pavlik strike, where you acknowledge other boxers.

Yeah, because there aren't better options at 147...

Mayweather could fight great fighters there and gain a lot of respect. He doesn't need Pavlik for legacy, money or anything else, it's just a plausible option if the megafight with Pacquiao falls through.

The fight with Mosley will make more money, a fight with Pacquiao would. If Cotto can rebuild himself, so would that fight.

There are more reasons that Mayweather hasn't called out the fight, than him not wanting it. He just doesn't need it.

Pavlik will undeed lose respect for Mayweather's punching power at 160 above and that I recognize to be the most striking thing in this match. You have to make your opponent back up a step to keep on outworking him with moves and feints as well. If you don't throw punches, I mean not only scoring shots, your opponent will go thru your punches and overpower you, stabbing you to the chest, slamming on your arms, shoulders and eventually catch you with that one blow. Floyd did make Hoya think his way in when he whipped him hard in between Oscar's attacks. Kelly wouldn't back a step if Floyd couldn't hurt him and I don't think he could.
