It is the same as any internet forum. You have the know it alls , the bullshiters and the cliques between posters on every forum you go on. I think its just a case of that person who has just joined to show that they know there stuff or that they have the passion for boxing if you show that you should be grand with most people on the site. Yes some sites have a type of mafia people as well who are right even if there wrong on some topics as there view is final.

My opinion on this matter is that as soon as a person gets a certain amount of posts they think they are an encyclopedia on Boxing.

I cant believe some people are even suggesting there is an '' elite '' group of posters, its an internet forum FFS, if someone wants to think they are an '' elite '' poster, let them, its a bit sad if they think they are.

I'm a relatively new poster on here and had no problems at all. Just try and participate in discussions that (a) I'm interested in (b) where i think my point will contribute something to the discussion.

The Brit forum is league's ahead of the General Forum anyway. That place is full some real bell ends.

I bloody hope we're not becoming too elitist!!

In my time here there's always been a steady flow of good new posters coming through. Like others, I started posting on the general before "discovering" the Brit forum and it was a pretty cool place with none of that "STFU noob" stuff.

The worst thing that could happen here is the "regulars" become to insular that that all new posters are driven away. I dunno, in the past few months the forum isn't the same as what it was about a year ago. Losfer's gone missing :)lol:) and TFFP doesn't post as often. They are two of the best posters on this forum so that definitely takes something away.

I think what's good is that over here if you don't know your stuff someone WILL pull you up on it. I sometimes don't post on threads as I don't think I know enough on the subject.

For me, if you know your stuff people aren't going to disregard your post just because of your join date or post count - if they do that is pathetic. Elitism is not good :nono.

I've only joined recently and not found it too bad apart from Billy Nelson having a go at me a couple of times, but that was in no way an elitist thing, just me pissing him off :yep

I think Losfer just lost a bit of interest in boxing in general.

I dunno if it just me or what but i thought there used to be a lot more debates on the forum. The only time you can really get a good debate is on the night of the fight or waiting for the yank cards to come on.

No one is calling themselves an "elite poster", not that I'm aware of anyway. Its being used more as a derogatory term by newer posters, directed against older posters who they feel aren't giving them a fair chance and who are dictating what is and isn't right within the forum.

I agree. Things get a bit lively on fight nights and the day after (if there has been a controversial fight).

I've just joined the forum having been present at the death of another forum. I was referred here by one of my friends at the gym I use. I've found it ok. Some good people it seems. To be honest I don't give a **** about what people think of me or each other. lets talk boxing and stop giving each other e-BJ's.
