Excessive clinching is up to the interpreter. The point taken from Dirrell was harsh, but had the ref taken a point from Froch I wouldnt have mind it.

It comes down to, the most blatant fouler of the match was the one who didnt get a point taken away.

Did Dirrell duck below the waist? Did he hold a little too much? Yeah. Was it as bad as rabbit punches(which are ruled as such because you could kill a man hitting him on the back of his head) and body slams, and headlocks, and pulling Dirrell down worse? Hell yes.

Dirrell collapses to the canvas often when he is pressured and can't find another way out.
He likely would've been KO'd against Froch had he not resorted to those tactics. Froch made Dirrell look like a novice in there.
