haha, yeah i thought arthur would pressure him a little bit more than he did but to be honest, i hadntr seen much of arthur so it was a bit of a rash decision when i picked him

Good fight for Stephen would be Bhatia or Arthur next and let Simpson fight Lindsay and maybe Smith in with the winner of all that in a big domestic tussle?? Im sure you'd have people who'd wanna see that!!:good

i hardly think his performance versus arthur was world class, and please beleive me it wont be anything like appleby all over again, simpson should be able to stop martin imo far to strong, punches harder, has a much better shot selection and a desire to win second to none

Hello all, just thought id let people know my take on the subject. I think both fighters being mentioned are good lads, Lindsay the more skillful of the two but Simpson far the stronger and tougher. Got the upmost respect for both and like other fans - I too would love to see the fight between the two.

People do seem to write me off a little with regards to how i'd fair against both and everyone is entitled to their opinion. My opinion - I am ready to step up to title level now and feel people will see the best of me then.

I would fight either fighter at the drop of a hat.

    Stephen Smith

Love the confidence swifty. I think the only real reason people are saying not right now, is so that you can gain a bit more experiance in the pro's getting used to the number of rounds etc. There is no doubt you have the skill set and tools to beat both of them very soon.
Is it likely to be the english you fight for next? And are you going to be on the mitchell bill>?

Totally agree. The winner of a possible Lindsay vs Simpson double has nothing to prove here and ought to move on.

Smith could take the loser for the British, having had a decent fight in the meantime.

lindsay is a level above simpson

simpson is a great pressure fighter but martin would use his boxing brain and skills to outbox simpson over 12 , would be a great match up hope it gets made

I told you guys he'll fight anyone!! You'll be there soon mate!! This kid has star potential written all over him, Lindsay Vs Simpson and the winner fights for the European while the loser fights Swifty and while he's waiting I think he could fight Bhatia or Trusscott or maybe even Arthur??

Like I said Stephen is like myself and just wants a test and someone everyone knows on the domestic scene, The Rocky Dean fight was close to coming off last time so hopefully he can have that in his next bout..:good

+1, that's what I'd really like to see happen Tony.
Both Simpson and Lindsay have proven they can operate beyond British level and have proven themselves as the best two Featherweights domestically.
Them facing off would be a great 50/50 fight and the winner would get to be involved in another 50/50 fight with the very good Oleg Yefimovich.

Stephen is a great prospect, but I don't think a fighter with his experience should be thrown in to a fight if it's going to prevent a massive domestic dust up. it makes more sense for him to get some more experience himself, deserve his chance not just with his potential but with proven victories and of course good quality wins and further exposure will only gain him more fans for when he does contest the British title, and make that another massive domestic battle.

However Maloney talking about Lindsay v Bhatia if he can't make Lindsay v Yefimovich doesn't have me quite as excited.
