Busted up, all swollen, ruptured eardrum or cuts are all signs of a excellent defense, yeah, I get it.

 

If Zab had a higher workrate and didn't wilt under pressure, he would have beat Floyd. Floyd is a powderpuff. It took him 10 rounds to put down Ricky Hatton. Couldn't put a dent in De La Hoya. Couldn't KO Marquez, who he outweighed by 10-15 pounds.

You add in his super low workrate, and I don't see that Floyd beating Manny, at least not the one from the Judah fight.

And I don't disagree about the Mosley fight. Stylistically it's a bad matchup for Shane. Pacquiao is a nightmare for Floyd.

 

You have a lot to learn.............please spend some time at a gym not on the net and you might understand..........if the fight ever happens it will be a tremendous let down for you.............never ever is someone beating Mayweather with a face first defense, in order to trouble him you need reach/size and a great jab...............manny ain't got none of it. Roach knows it .... Arum knows it.....and that is the reason why the fight has stalled. Both fighters are not afraid of each other but Boxing is a business with many heads to feed and cutting of the meal ticket before it got milked for all it was worth makes no sense.......

No one's saying that he has an excellent defense. However, you're the one that appears to be stating that Pacquiao doesn't make his opponent miss.

And that, quite frankly, isn't an exact truth.

 

He doesn't have great defense , but it's not nearly as bad as you make it out to be. Those are also 4 excellent fighters. Do you think he was gonna come out of those fights unscathed? Look what Cotto did to Mosley and Judah, who is supposed to be very good defensively. Also those guys, with the exception of Clottey who is a huge welter, did things that Floyd doesn't do - namely throw combinations.

Morales and Marquez , when they fought an inferior version of Pacquiao, had success not just by counterpunching but by backing Pacquiao up with combinations.

Pacquiao will force Mayweather to fight. You aren't going to keep him off you or beat him throwing 1 shot at a time.

 

In that gif, you see JMM take that step back and fire.....

If you look at both of Pacquiao's fights with Marquez, you see Marquez half stepping back just about as Pacquiao is about to unleach, this throws Pacquiao's rhythm off and has him lunging .....then the quick counter strikes follow.

Thats what the counterpuncher does. He knows to take the step back and angle if need be, then the countershot is fired as the other guy is out of rhythm and position.

DLH, Hatton, Cotto, CLottey......neither of these guys have never been particularly adept at quick counterstrikes.
The right hand straight as an arrow as Marquez threw it there is the key. Everytime Pacquiao missed with the left hand, Marquez right hand was automatic.

The thing thats scary about Mayweather in this matchup is that he has more spring in his legs than JMM.

Marquez imo throws the better combination, but the key to nullifying Pacquiao's aggression is not to stay in front of him.
......having said that, its a given that Mayweather will never stand long enough in front of Pacquiao for him to get a combination off.

Against Mayweather, Pacquiao will be relugated to throwing single shots, and the misses are going to be countered easily by straight rights by Mayweather.

At anytime that Pacquiao presses the issue hard and aims to cut the ring off, Mayweather will meet Pacquiao head on and smother and get into the clinch.....on the inside, Mayweather is too good in contorting his body to come off that clinch throwing the better combination and getting out.

I just cant see it any other way. Mayweather is just too good inside or out with the better footwork, wish will be the key in the fight if they ever meet.

....and yet Pac bounces back like it was nothing (@ approximately 2 slow motion seconds Pac is steady again).

You need to learn to analyze a fight better. You need a jab and reach/size if your an orthodox fighter. Zab didn't have a reach or size advantage on Floyd. And Pacquiao does have a jab. You should watch his recent fights a little more closely.

Floyd is potshot artist who throws 1 punch at a time. That's not the foil to beat Pacquiao. That's not how Morales beat him, or Marquez almost beat him. You have to throw combinations and back him up. You have to make him respect you. Floyd has a low workrate and is extremely cagey. He clams up under pressure rather then fighting back. That will loose him the fight against Pac's high workrate and quick hands.

Floyd is a good counterpuncher, but he's not that great against southpaws. I've seen him against Mitchell, Corley and Judah. He fights aggressively off the front foot against southpaws. Watch more footage.

who has sparred with Manny Pacquiao for his past fights..

Oh...Steve Forbes, Deontay Wilder and the other guy who fought on FNF recently.

Is there a way to compare the sizes of the current Pacquiao to the Mayweather of the Judah fight using this Gif?


Because someone gave me this genius idea to use this as comparison. Apparently, Mayweather (circa 2006) looks bigger than Pac (current) using the Judah fight as reference.

I will try to use rulers and calipers, but I still need to do it a long way.

First, I will compare Judah (circa 2006)to judah (circa 2008), then compare Judah (circa 2006) using the Judah (circa 2008) to proportionate size difference between Judah and Clottey. Then Compare Clottey with Pac, and finally compare Mayweather with Pac using Judah, indirectly.

It seems like a complicated process, but I am sure it can be done. Afterall, Hoiw can you debate with a genius and the Obi Wan of ESB.

The results would surely be very objective.
