Where does this win rank in Lewis' career?

It was a good but predictable win. I dont think it did much more than what it actually did in reality and that was keep him in the top ten to get another title shot. Morrison just wasnt good enough to beat the better fighters.

That about sums it up for me....

A superb performance for Lennox Lewis, but not a legacy building opponent..

Wasn't this fight supposed to come off earlier before the Michael Bentt debacle? If they had fought immediately after the Foreman upset, how would this impact Lewis' legacy?

Lewis looked really good in there. Neat and correct and complete.

Morrison wasn't a particularly good fighter though. Failed every time he step into the ring with a good fighter who wasn't a has-been.

Foreman would still become champion again.

I remember Ring magazine wrote something along the lines of "Given Lewis' right hand, Morrison's left hook & both fighters chins, this should be a shootout to remember." :nut

Yeah, I suppose that technically disqualifies him from being a "has-been".

He was half has been and half would be... Well, okay, 65% has been and 35% would be. But that's 65% ATG has been, man.

I think this was the first big fight where Lewis was under Steward's guidance and the improvement was enormous. One of his finer performances against a limited but extremely hard hitting opponent. I love that left hook that causes the lost knockdown. Picture perfect.

I think it would have been a bigger impact for Lewis, more because Lewis was still somewhat green and unknown himself in the US and Morrison was pretty popular.
Someone started a thread in the general that Morrison is going to fight Riddick Bowe? :patsch

Apparently they're allowed to use their canes on each other for this one.

This was a master class, no one else in the 90s would be capable of beating Morrison like that, Morrison would lose to the best but he'd give them problems

I think this was the fight were Foreman described Lennox as being the greatest W of all time

What about Mercer and Bentt who beat him quicker than Lewis did?
