Hopkins is hardly a racist. He probably has a more divers group of friends and associates than the threadstarter.
Black fighters get overrated by black people. White fighters get overrated by white people. Mexican fighters get overrated by Mexicans. Euros overrated by euros. etc. etc. etc. Its like that. Its the ****ing truth.
It's a tradeoff. White people have pretty much all the money and power in this country, the Black people get to have a few off color jokes. I guess that's our reward for hundreds of years of slavery and being treated like second class citizens for pretty much our entire histroy in this country. If White people want to trade I'm down for it. The minorities can have all the power, wealth, and social advantages, and The White people can tell all the racial jokes they want.
I enjoyed the show bernard put on Pavlik ...but was shaking my head at what a ****in ******* he was when the final bell rang.... that was no class. He was proud of his performance...but he didn't have to get all monster like that. The calzaghe thing was just like throwing the puerto rican flag down.... $$$$$$$$$$ sellin it.
That way of thinking goes nowhere. Things should be on a personal level, don't do to others what you don't like done to you.
uh, dude, white people no longer have "pretty much all" of the money and power in this country anymore. especially in the larger urban areas, where a good portion of the elected officials and business owners are black and latino
Again, if white people want to exhange their social and economic status with minorities in exchange for saying racially charged comments, I'm all for it.
I have to go with what NBA said. Boxing is the sport where people tend to go with "their kind" more than any oter sport. I'm a fan of all kinds of fighters because of what they do not what their ethnicity is. No Hopkins isn't racist he's just a guy looking to sell fights that's all.
