That's just as much bull**** as the 'fake-ists'. There's about 0.75 seconds between when Dirrell touches down and Abraham clocks him. I swear that everybody's extrapolating far too much from slow-motion footage with this fight.
I really think Abraham was starting to put the heat on Dirrell, and that a better fighter than Dirrell would have been able to close the show on Abraham and either force a stoppage or at least keep the pressure on him. Dirrell was starting to look flustered and the way he was moving around the ring seemed like he was gonna try to just survive the last 2 rounds. Yes, he got a fair W, but I'm not really impressed and I don't believe he earned the shine that he seeks.
He knew Dirrell was already down in which he was frusterated with Dirrell easily beating him. And for Abraham to say that what he did was legal? Man.
What the fvck is the matter with you guys:roll:......you keep mentioning "character"......what the fvck does that have to do with boxing? The fight is about winning. You win by beating the **** out of your opposition. If you hit him low or on the ground, tough ****, if you are DQ'd you lose....if not, you have just gained an advantage as your opponent is hurting..........the first rule the ref tells you before the opening bell is....."Protect yourself at all times". I have not seen this fight, but will take a look at when I get the chance.
This is also my opinion. To be honest, it doesn't matter, we will never know the truth. Fact is that Abraham did what he did. A foul is a foul and the DQ is more than fair.
I believe he earned his shine. Before the dq, he put on an awesome performance in which not many here didn't think Dirrell would win it that easy. Yes Dirrell was hurt in the 10th by that knockdown but Abraham didn't do anything in the 11th before that dq. In a big fight like this with the whole world is watching on showtime and this is a supersix tournament, why would Dirrell fake an injury in which he only has 1 round left to go? It doesn't make any sense.
I feel bad for Dirrel. I hope next time he matures even more. I also hope that the damn promoters learn their lesson about those dumb decals all over the canvas. I was fooled by AA's personality too, but remember his brother kicked a KOed Edison Miranda. Apples don't fall far from the tree...
And i bet that it is far less time between when Dirrell touches the ground and Abraham actually making eye contact with him and sees where he is(on the floor)
yep, and if he was faking, why go all out? why not get up, take the 5 minute rest he would have gotten. AA probably would have gotten a point deduction making the fight even wider on the cards. then, all dirrell has to do is play keep away the last round, and he wins a wide, dominating UD why on earth would he rather win a dq laying on the ground with his leg twitching? anyone who believes that is a moron.
What? Dude you are a hater. "AA was starting to..." What the hell are you talking about? It was the 11th and AA was basically shut out. "A fighter better than..." What are you talking about? AA was UNDEFEATED!!! AA is known for two things his power and his... DEFENSE!!! Nobody has been able to defeat the man let alone put him on his butt. "...seemed like he was just going to try to survive..." Damn right! He was doing 3x the work of AA winning the fight. He had the fight in the bag. What should he do bang with a guy with KO power and send it down the drain like JT did? :blood Man you are a hater. :bart
No. Dirrell loves to hit the corners, he was doing so all fight trying to catch Abraham with the check hook, he had slipped in that corner earlier. Abraham looked decent in the 10th largely because he got break in the 9th, but in the 11th he once again looked pathetic closing off the ring and Dirrell was winning his 9th, possibly 10th round of the fight. Abraham wasnt closing in, though I can see why his fans would want people to believe that. It gives credence to the "he was faking" nonsense.
so what if he moved and danced the last two rounds. He could've done sprints back and forth from corner to corner and he still would have deserved the W for absolutely dominating nearly the entire fight. The smart thing for Dirrell to do in the last couple rounds would be to dance. A better fighter would not have tried to force a stoppage on AA as you say, a dumber fighter would have.
Phillas mad because someone told him Dirrell did better then Pacquiao against the high guard. So he's out parroting his nonsense. Ask him, he gave Abraham 5 rounds in the fight, the 11th and 12th, even though they didnt happen!
You can not justify what AA did it was wrong and he should suspended and fined for it. Dirrell's leg's were going though, that's why so many people think he was looking for a way out, b/c it seemed like one hard shot and it would be over. They should do a rematch.
