No more so than those saying Dirrell was an inevitable KO. That is the point. Dirrell did have a legit shot at it and people are forgetting that.
I am not a hater, I just call it like I see it. I got nothing against Dirrell personally. As for Abraham being undefeated, that's very good but unlike most fanboys, I can see beyond an undefeated record. You think I'm just a Dirrell hater? why don't you go see who I picked to win Dirrell vs Abraham.
he does have a weak resume and his style makes him very beatable against world class opponents. However, if he was able to make some significant changes to his style...namely increase that work rate, then he can hang with most guys. But as long as he continues to give at least half his rounds away, then he's going to struggle mightily in the upper echelons.
Umm no. Like I said he was trying to set Abraham up with counter shots in the corners, this tactic requires that you allow the other man to close the distance. Dirrell performed exceptionally well in the ropes and corners. He first KD of Abraham came off the ropes. His 2nd disallowed KD, was him catching Abraham with a check hook backing up into a corner. His coach was worried because thats what coachs do. When Mayweather was fighting Hatton Roger Mayweather told him to stay in the middle of the ring, Mayweather however had a better feel of the situation then Roger, as with Andre and his corner. Given that his 2 best punches landed were against the ropes, and the fact that he landed his best punch against froch aswell against the ropes, its a place he likes to be and is comfortably fighting there. Confirm what? That Abraham hadnt landed a punch the entire 11th until the DQ?
I said "would have been able to force a stoppage". Its not about trying to go for the stoppage. If you're really outclassing your opponent then the stoppage just comes, no need to try to force it, you can force it naturally. Dirrell dominated the first half of the fight, but he was losing the second half of the fight until the DQ. Its a good win but I'm just saying not really worthy of all the shine and glory that he seems to believe he earned.
So Dirrell didnt win 7, 8, 9, and was winning the 11th. He lost the 10th so he was losing the 2nd half of the fight. Incredible.
Dirrell lost 8 and 10. Getting knocked down in the 10th and losing it big. The 11th was still a toss-up before the DQ as neither fighter did much effective work. nothing incredible about it. The only thing incredible is you giving Dirrell the 8th round.
Sorry man. In that fight there were 4 distinct KDs. Two for AD. Two for AA. Only one was counted. That ref sucked.
8 is a toss up. 10th was a Dirrell round until the non-KD. Then Abraham blazed forward missing most of his shots but Dirrell was inactive. Even if you give Abraham both 8 and 10, thats still 7, and 9 Dirrell won, with Dirrell putting such a beating on Abraham in the 9th that the ref hd to stop it to check his cut, along with winning the 11th before the DQ. So I guess that equals losing the 2nd half of the fight. atsch
Good post. His best win is a struggling Jermain Taylor, and now he might not even get another win in the tournament.
:verysad Would please be so ****ing kind and explain to me how Dirrell is cheating? You hoe ass dudes kill me with this non-sense! How in the hell did Dirrell cheat?atsch
The only reason I called you a hater was that nothing you said made sense. Man I call suspect on a few Euro champs, but AA is the goods. He has fought and decisively beat some of the best. Don't throw that "fanboy" stuff in there to cloud the issue. It doesn't matter who you picked. What matters is if your analysis is honest to what happened in the fight. It wasn't. The only reason I can see for that is hate.
wrong. My analysis is honest despite you not ageeing with it. I have no bias toward or against either Abraham or Dirrell.
