Some Mexicans, some PR, some Cubans etc can definitely can be called white.

If you have an incorrect perception of the Latino terminology.

And ROFL on some people here excusing black racism - even going far as saying they are not capable of it!!!

LOLOLOL. It is funny in a sad way. That mentality will continue your self fulfilling prophesy of second class citizenship. Keep putting all blame on others.

Fool I have circled the planet and live in a majority Hispanic area.

Everything you just said is pointless fluff. I know all of that. There are also more Blacks in South America than in The US. Blah, blah, blah. To

What the CIA fact book recognizes them as and the socio-economic pressure they experience and ethnic identity they identify with are completely different. This separation of identity makes your comments of "whites" and "power" irrelevant because their voting record is completely different than their ethnic identification per the CIA fact book.

Your ignorant butt probably just got to The States so you think everything is grand and the Blacks shouldn't complain. The truth is that American society was LEGALLY equalized until 1970. Hopkins was already 6-7 years old. The crack disparity in drug sentencing was introduced in 1973. Coincidence? In your simple mind everything should be all fair and equal?

    Just shut up.

Kelly Pavlik IS "The Great White Hope". So what?
Times may have changed but the demand for one remains the same.

The source of the conflict is two different understandings of the word "racism". White people see it only as a feeling. Black people see it as a "system".

Racism - A SYSTEM of oppression based on ethnicity. The system controls social, economic, and perception of the oppressed racial group, (i.e., segregation, denial of loans, higher likelihood of incarceration, etc...)

Racial Prejudice - A negative belief about another group based on race.

I think nobody denies that what Hopkins saying is racially prejudiced and generally not cool. What isn't seen is that Hopkins does not control what the community and world thinks of Whites in general. He cannot select news clips to support his bias while ignoring those that don't for the world to see. White people (in very general terms) can.

In other countries with racism it is the same. Japanese with Koreans/Chinese/Filipinos. Chinese with Uighurs/etc... It is common, but the history isn't as deep in other countries.

Yeah, but he's only a fighter at the end of the day.

He's not running for political office or anything.

Exactly. Hopkins is just some Black guy. You have guys in CONGRESS that say far worse and they are making laws!

That is the difference between racially prejudiced and racist. When you are a "racist" you actually have the POWER to screw a racial group.

Hopkins is a terrible sport and a rude loud-mouth, and I say that as a Hopkins fan. He (and others) get a free pass on things that other fighters get crucified for.

Its cuz a lot of them believe that everything is all good these days and that just because we have laws to protect minorities, those laws are actually followed. I'm not saying what Hopkins said was okay but it's hardly the same as a white person saying something similar about a minority. The days of slavery may be over but we still got some real ****ed up **** going on and people will say stuff sometimes.

    Those defending Hopkins words.

I wonder how you'd feel if it was say Joe calzaghe who said:

On Hopkins - "I'll never lose to a black boy"
On Lacy - "I beat the great black hope"

That **** is wrong black or white, stop defending it.

It is if someones uses your skin colour to insult you, which Hopkins did to Calzaghe.

No you are just pushing your own opinion as to what others should! or should not be offended by. It is warped, saying blacks cant be racist is not anymore accepted than it is for whites, that only applies in your world, most people think sinking to the level of raising someone's colour as a stick to beat them with is unacceptable, white or black, otherwise that would be double standards and is bound to cause friction between either race.

My ignorance.:rofl, says the man who thinks he knows what people should be offended by and that black people cant be racist, lets for argument say Hopkins was not racist, it does not make any difference in your world because no matter what he says he cant racist by default because of his skin colour.

You son have the audacity to call me ignorant? it beggars belief Lol
