:bart At first I thought you were joking. Apparently not. If this is a tactic of any boxer, they don't belong in the ring. There trainer does'nt deserve to be licensed etc... Has anyone with this theory, ever seen any footage of this "technique" being taught, practiced, or rehearsed in the ring prior to the fight. Of course not... No one in their right mind would purposely place their life in jeopardy but doing some stupid sh** like that. You can't disguise your intent by simply stating all the other nonsense include with your post. This is another attempt to disparage Dirrell's accomplishment Saturday night IMHO...:bbb

But how does he conceal all the banana peels that he no doubt has to place all over the ring?

It is an intriguing theory, but I must say probably the product of an inferior mind. Which I say in all due respect, of course.

Seems like people who are extremely pro american, or Anti-Europe, etc just blindly agree with there side. It wasn't Abraham vs Dirrell. It was America VS Europe to people, and that's a stupid outlook.
I'm American, and I could care less. The TS has many good points that people refuse to believe, or hear.
The man slips 7 times in 2 fights
The man slips, but his opponents don't
The man slips, but it's right when the other fighters have a good shot

People keep saying they wouldn't believe that! Get the hell out of here that you wouldn't beleive a boxer would slip on purpose so they wouldn't get KTFO!! Boxers clinch, hit on the break, deliver low blows when there desperate, SLAM eachother, bite eachother, headbutt eachother. YET....You guys honestly believe nobody would pretend to slip to avoid contact???! That nobody humanly possible could fake a slip. Your probably the same people who said it's impossible to fake his acting...Because twitching a leg, and acting disortiented is impossible. I'm not saying he did, or didn't, but you guys are such drama queens...

Anyways, I'm not sure if the last slip was intentional, or an actual slip. THOUGH, i bet in the future you won't see Dirrell slip as much ;)
And before somebody quotes that, and says how horrible of a person I am. If the man is going to purposely slip..Which is cheating...Then he got what he deserved. If he just slips A lot....I bet he'll buy some better shoes next time, or slow his running down.

Not as bad as Pernell Whitaker purposely sitting his ass on the canvas once Trinidad cornered him. It was either fight or get knocked out, Sweet pea made a third option, sit.

So you think he practices deliberate slipping in Kronk gym in Detroit?

Or maybe he practices in his bedroom in front of the mirror because he's too ashamed to do it at the gym?

Pretty hard to pull of boxing slapstick like that -- it took Chevy Chase years to perfect the art SNL.

He's very clever to purposely slip on the sheer advertisements that are covered with water. That way one ever suspects... except those who think outside the box.

Dirrell comes equipped with vaseline that he hides in his shorts. When he needs to slip, he surreptitiously squirts some vaseline on the canvas and plants his feet in just the right spot. It's called a "spit-slip" and it was introduced by a former major league baseball player turned professional boxer who used to work out at Kronk.

I doubt he practises it or even discusses it before the fight. Its a natural reaction for him. Imagine you are fighting prime Tyson, you would be trying to clinch, slip do anything to avoid being hit by him. Of course its a different case with Direll who was faster, better reflexes than Abraham and was able to avoid the contact for most of the fight. Problem was once he started to fade and Abraham started to catch him.

Dude are you like new to watching boxing? Mostly alot of slick fighters that moves alot normally slips cause of the wet spot or the paint on the mat. Now you talking about Dirrell slip alot in the Froch fight? Dude the reason Dirrell went down alot cause Froch glove keep pushing the back side of Dirrell's head. But i guess you didn't know that.

Its just a coinsidence that it happens when they are fighting a heavy handed fighter . Show me other fights of Direll where he slips. He should be slipping an average of 3 slips per fight.

I feel Dirrell got thrown into this tourney pretty damn early for someone with his expirience. I'm not going to say he was slippin' on purpose, I think it had to do with his lack of expirience against hard pressure fighters (Froch & Abraham) that made it look as if it was on purpose. AD showed great improvements from one fight to the other, so i'm sure we'll be seeing less of this slippery in future fights.

I have no doubt that you, maciek, if thrown in to the ring with a prime Tyson would try and deliberately slip. That would be entirely consistent with what I can only infer about your boxing IQ. I, on the other hand, would do nothing of the kind. It would be an outlandishly stupid thing to do, vastly increasing the odds of me getting killed in the ring.
