If Pacquiao retires and then comes back, where would you rate him P4P?

People putting Floyd back at #1 based off of a win over a blown-up Marquez? Laughable. What a joke.

Pacquiao retires, assuming Mayweather beats Mosley, Floyd would be number one...then Pacquiao returns, blows out somebody who in reality is a C-level welterweight (which Marquez was), I sure as hell WOULDN'T put him back at the top.

agree with you on this. personally, i'd say if pac comes back from retirement he shouldn't be put immediatley on the pfp list. he should work his way again throught the ranks by fighting the best available opposition and winning.

I voted #1 cause I think that Floyd wouldn't be able to dominate Cotto and Clottey as conclusively as Manny was able to do, and it would just point to the fact that Pac is a better fighter.

He'd be in the top 50 probably.

I personally have him P4P #27 or so right now.

    Don't forget...
-Who would win at catchweight in a chess match: Obama or Pacquiao?
-If Manny fights Bernard Hopkins, who is an AMERICAN black, will the charge that he is still avoiding black challengers go away....but who would then be the MOST racist in the event?
-If Pacquiao were to go back in time would he be P4P #1 in the era of Joe Louis, Henry Armstrong and Sugar Ray Robinson or #4, or #5?

Clearly p4p rankings has a lot of emphasize on "what have you done lately". If Mayweather is cleaning out WW whilst Pac is absent for 2years then how can he be ranked above him when he comes back? We have no idea how good he is and whilst FMJ has been proving how good he was the last 2 years, Pac hasn't. This is why FMJ is not no.1 at the moment, for the same exact reason.

As far as I'm concerned if Mayweather had not retired in 2007 and continued fighting throughout 08 and 09 at the same level of dominance that he showed in 2007, and meanwhile Pac had beaten Marquez at 130, and destroyed Diaz at 135, Oscar at 147, Hatton at 140, and Cotto at 145 back to back, then Pac would've been #1 p4p anyways.

Clearly that depends on who PBF was dominating during that 2years. Pac was on the verge on catching up with PBF as PBF was wasting time with Baldomir, Judah's and mitchells, what pulled him back was his controversial win over JMM and PBF furthered the gap a bit by beating elite fighters in DLH & Hatton decisively.

Now if PBF went back to picking and choosing his opponents, meanwhile FW Pac is making noise at WW and cleaning out PBF competition for him whilst PBF was active, then it would have looked even worse than when Floyd was retired.
