Agreed. I'm american, and you can just watch some t.v shows, or MTV, and realize what's wrong with the country. Not everybody is like that, but lots are, and then other countries see things like this, and puts a bad example out there.
Everybody has faults don't get me wrong. It's just a country that makes extra priority to money, fame, and power. Yet...What do you live for? 100 years if your exceptional? I don't believe those things aren't important and you should enjoy your life, but society (especially americans society) says that if you don't have these things you not doing well.
Yet.....A lot of rich people are some of the most depressed people, and look at the suicides.

The world is seriously to LOVE COUNTRY FIRST. Whenever your suppose to just LOVE PEOPLE FIRST. If I see a boxer whom I'm entertained by...That's who I like. I don't care if he beat some guy from my country, state, town, or EVEN my own damn brother. Good job sir...you entertained me quite well, and beat my brother handily. LOL

Awesome. Another thread based on a baseless generalization. I don't see enough of these on ESB.

Coming from a country that follows their fighters around the world regardless of their chances, the result or their past fights......yes I do mean to tell you.

Outside of the HW division, boxing in the 1970s was largely dominated by non-Americans. Most champions were not from the US. It still got pretty good attention in the American sports press.

Boxing in the U.S. is just on the decline, period, no matter what division.

Thanks for your response, I know it's not everyone but the way Lacy was rubbished after so many fans claimed he would KO Calzaghe made me angry. It was like they blamed him for their wrong prediction and he should have got support rather than get roasted, maybe the fans response ruined him and not Joe.

No offense intended, but it could be because there are so many weight classes that are represented well by Americans, unlike most other countries. Again not a slight, because the US has by far the most fighters and the most resources that go into it. Although, yes, not as much as used to be.

Or maybe he just wasn't all that great to begin with. He never accomplished anything after and had been brought along nicely by the hype. It happens.
