That fight between Hyland and Lindsay would have to be for a title and as a co-headliner as you suggested to Andy Lee.....Im sure Andy would have to fight someone with a very good record or title to sell out the o2, or we could have McCloskey defending his EBU title.........

Simpson, Appleby or Bhatia. I wouldn't bother with the other 3 but as SBW says staying active is the main thing.

How about Alberto Servedi? Has been to Ireland before as a Dunne sparring partner. Not a lot of punch power, 27-0, decent technician and hes 34.

I think Pajos next opponent should be somebody that is well known to try push himself and get noticed a bit more........
After all its names that sells tickets not records,
Hopefully he gets out on 1 of the upcoming shows in May, or Eddie for that fact.....(hopefully the dolphil show, its only up the road :D)

I'd go with Pickering tbh, he's got the 'former British, Commonwealth and European Champion, aswell as World title challenger' tagline, which would held shift tickets. Not to forget people here would probably still remember him from when he fought Dunne.

Pickering has looked terrible and shot at time of late, but he's certainly looked better in his appearances at Featherweight and you could possibly say his performances vs Sean Hughes were down to weight issues. He wasn't that bad from about the 3rd/4th round on in the 2nd one.
Against Yefimovich he looked like he'd have enough to steal teach Pajo a few things in there yet not be quite too much of a treat where he's in serious risk of losing, and considering how the Coveney fight was going(bad night or not) it's probably best not to throw Pajo in with a guy like Martinez or Servidei next.

From the February European rankings Pajo is 16th and Pickering is 13th, so it would help him push up somewhat.
Cheaper alternatives(who'd prove less of a test), would be Yuri Voronin, who was 9th in the rankings but will drop some places after losing to Joe Murray this month. Voronin also has a kind of name in this country from stunning Dunne.

Massimo Mora would be the best option for an easy fight and rising in the rankings, he's currently 11th.

    All good points........
Pickering has bucket loads of experience, well capable to go the distance as he went 12 with Dunne for the EBU.
But im sure Pajo would get in with any of the names mentioned....

    On another note.....
Was up in the Hylands club this evening......Big PaPa Hyland is really putting the work in ahead of his Charity fight in May.......

Pickering 2 years ago maybe. Now its not a step up. Hes way past his best. 4 losses in his last 6 fight albeit in some decent company. I'd like to see Hyland in with someone a level up from him

Well i doubt it will be Kiko, Cant see him doing much in the Featherweights....

Like what Jim Rock said, When he beat Dunne, "Its was like him winning the Lottery" well was not far from it, i remember reading after that fight that his team cleaned up in the bookies too.......

He's always been a Super-Bantamweight who has mainly campaigned at Featherweight. He fought Dunne at Featherweight, Nicky Cook for the European title at Featherweight, Hector Velazquez for a World trinket thing at Featherweight, Cyril Thomas for the European title at Featherweight, Yefimovich the current European champion at Featherweight, and Joe Murray at Featherweight.

The only guys we'd know over here he's fought at Super-Bantamweight are Yersin Jailauov(8 years ago) and he's fought Scott Quigg(a Super-Bantamweight) where they were both nearly 2/3 lbs under Featherweight.
So he's pretty much a Featherweight anyway, even if he shouldn't be. At 36 I'm not sure he could still make 122 anymore either.

and if he fights someone a level up from Pickering and turns in a performance like his last one then the likelyhood is he'll lose. He's still a prospect to an extent and we can't forget that he still needs to be moved up the levels. It's fine to do that quickly when your blowing away everyone you're coming up against, but Pajo just fought a very close fight with a fighter well below European title level. To suggest putting him in with a fighter who is potentially good enough to win the European title now(eg John Simpson), well that's just not smart.
