I have been kicking myself in the ass recently after spending several days watching a handful of JMM fights. Damn, I really hate that I never really watched him until the Pacquiao fights. But after watching him Smoke my boy Derrick Gainer, beating MAB, spanking Rocky Juarez and Joel Cassamayor and am slowly starting to become a fan.

So I came up with a nice list I would like to see JMM fight.

    Marcos Maidana
    - JMM by TKO easy.
Mike Alvarado - JMM by TKO, Alvarado...although undefeated, is still untested.
Amir Khan - Khan's Glass Jaw would get SHATTERED!!
Lamont Peterson - Peterson had problems with Bradley's speed, JMM doesn't have that kind of speed.
Paulie Malignaggi - JMM by DESTRUCTION.
Nate Campbell - This would have been a great fight 5 -7 years ago. JMM wins easy now.
Victor Ortiz - JMM has too much toughness and Heart...Ortiz has neither.

    Isn't he ready to retire?

  3. I worry about his age and coming back from the WW bloat. If he hasn't lost much I agree JMM still kicks a lot of asses @ 135/140.

Don't feel bad. Just watch the youtube videos. Not your fault that JMM wasn't given the proper exposure early on. I think JMM has 1 good fight left in him against a good fighter. He's a great fighter, just 36 years old right now.

    I think he's done.

If he fights Juan Diaz again he'll win.. but only because I don't think Juan Diaz has the drive to beat Marquez.. but I think Marquez is on the brink of being a shot fighter.

I think Pac destroys him if they fought again.

Agreed. If he's not going to retire, then he should try and be active.

    Let us see.

They turned down a chance to win a belt at 140 against Khan.

Their original target, Hatton, seems no longer interested to fight.

Now they will fight Juan Diaz, which is a good choice for a comeback fight. Not as difficult as Khan, but still a good name.

I think at this point, he is being managed well now. Good for him. He is not a stud anymore, in a year or two, he will be retiring.

    Whats active for you?

I think fighting twice a year is fine for a fighter Marquez age.
A fighter on the other side of 35 years old should'nt be fighting to often.
There's a lot of wear and tear on the body that goes with getting in the type of shape Marquez gets himself in.
