Bob Fitzsimmons can legitimately be included in a p4p top 10. He'd be the only one though. All in all, the USA has produced far, far more great fighters than any other nation (or even continent!) in the world, that just can't be argued with.

But to be honest, this petty nationalistic stuff is all a bit 1930s to me. Who gives a ****ing ****. Like fighters for their fighting qualities, not where they were born.

Americans talk as if Europe had no other competing sports vying for its athletes as well. Newsflash: Boxing has always been very low in popularity in comparison to soccer as well as other olympic sports. In many countries in Europe, volleyball is even more popular than boxing. Here's another newsflash....ever since the Iron curtain has been lifted, Eastern Euros have been kicking ass in boxing. Coincidance?

 

Well there history in the sport is longer dating back 100s of years, Where as there were no PRs of note until Sixto Escobar,Basora,Cocoa kid.
Put it this way in the last 50 years the tiny island has put out better fighters than the UK.

Anyways if you were a fan back when Lewis came around you would know that England didnt even like him your countreymen said he wasnt a true englishman since a goodpart of his life he was raised in Canada. You all loved Frank Bruno and hated Lennox lewis, then when you saw that he was the best heavyweight you ever had you decided he was englishman.
