Not sure that he would knock him out, but I see Groves beating him after a few more fights...Smith has looked poor in his last 2 fights but is vastly more experienced although Groves is far more talented. If he looks good against Adamu in the later rounds (I reckon it will go 12) the Hayemakers team should go for Smith
If he performs well enough, put him in with Smith next. Smith is good but if Groves is world class then someone like Smith can be beaten. Groves tools definitely look better at the moment but he's fighting a poor class. Let's see how he does against Adamu. I hope he tears him up.
I wasnt a huga fan of Paul however I am now. He seems to pull out results even when the cards are stacked against him, the cuts in his last fight would have been enough for some fighters to look for a way out of there yet he showed a huge ammount of balls to pull through. And I doubt anyone at British level would knock him out mate, hes proved he has a great chin on numerous occasions now. Paul will move on to bigger and better things now, Groves will have to battle it out with the likes of De Gale to fill the best of british role. Paul has proved he is in that slot just now but he has bigger fish to fry now. If Groves carries on like he is then its a fight that can be made later on though, im sure it would be a good 'un.
Got a feeling Warren is going to put Smith in with Magee and get him to vacate the British. He will try and wrangle something with the board to get DeGale vs Mandatory challanger Kenny Anderson. But surley if Groves wins he will be in with Anderson.
Smith has very nearly overachieved getting to where he is...not that being British Champ is anything to be sneezed at, he should be very pleased with his career, but he is going no further.
Fair opinion mate, like I said earlier I wasnt a huge fan of his but he is growing on me after his last outing and deserves a shot at the euro now. I think he needs better opponents to get the best out of himself without all the needle of the local match ups he's just been involved in.
He is Ginger which would normally start me off but no. I really like him. He's exciting and has the tools for the job. Certainly prefer him to DeGale.
Is it just me or does no one else think Groves is WAY TO EASY TO HIT??? He has only put over a few tomato cans and even they have been catching him flush! I hope the fight with Paul happens and he knocks Groves flat out. Stop all these world class shouts wafflin about!!! Sooner the better! If Paul does move on to Euro level, then I hope the Degale fight happens and he does the same to him!
Groves would beat DeGale easily, Smith would obviously be more of a challenge, but unless Smith starts to box and work combos as we are lead to believe he is capable of, rather than loading up the right hand from his bootstraps I see Groves beating him handily too. One for the present and the future is Groves, take that to the bank :deal
