Nailed it my man...those two embody everything about what a perfect fighter should be..Leonard was no slouch in the punching department, but imagine him with Tommy's power...IMO,the perfect fighter. Tommy Hearns was and always will be my man...But Leonard was the better skilled of the two. Great post.:good
Love to watch FMJ at work but for me i enjoy watching a guy with good technical abilty and abilty to KO the man infront of him at any point so have gone with boxer puncher
I like good style clash the most. Slugger with Brawler can be very brutal. holifield-tyson, Mugaby-Hagler.
Roy Jones has to be the most impressive and fun boxer to watch. And Tyson in his young days. Boy he was fast and furious
I like guys like Morales and Barrera who love to throw hands but also have technical ability. Boxers like Dirrell and Mayweather can be good to watch too although obviously nowhere near as exciting. Mayweather can be great to watch like he was against Gatti, Hatton etc but he can be boring as hell like against Oscar. I also like watching Paul Williams with those long ass arms. I've got long arms too and I'm an ectomorph like Paul and I love the way he throws non stop punches from all those angles, and those uppercuts are great to watch. He reminds me a little of Morales. I don't know much about the history of the sport but Tommy Hearns is one fighter from the past that I love watching. He had a smooth, sweet style and some hellish power at the same time. The name "Hitman" is very good for him because even when he had his man in trouble he stayed cool and picked his shots to finish him off, Just like a hitman who lines the target up and then bang!, kills his target efficiently. He didn't get all over excited. Ricky Hatton shouldn't have the name hitman cuz he goes in all guns blazing. He should be called Ricky the cowboy Hatton. Overall while guys like Mayweather can make it look artistic I'll always prefer an attacking fighter over a defensive one, even if they aren't always smooth with it. My favourite fighter is Pac, he can be a little crude sometimes but it's never boring when he fights.
I like a skilled boxer who can hit hard, has good handspeed, but also a questionable chin to make things exciting. Its why I like watching Khan and Haye, and to some extent Wlad- though his defence cancels out the vulnerable chin in a big way. Vitali and Manny Pac have much better punch resistance so it takes some of the excitement away. A bit like watching Chelsea play a 5-4-1 formation against a conference team in the FA cup
I'm a man of simple pleasures, I like more or less anyone who can fight in the pocket with some technical ability.
all i like different types of fighters, my favorite fighters are miguel cotto, shane mosley, david haye and paulie malignaggi and none of them fight alike.
I admire the stylists....slick, can fight inside and outside, does all the tangibles and fundamentals has every punch in the book....Guys like Leonard, Mayweather, Whitaker, and Roy Jones( 2nd fav. style a physical freak of nature lke with all the gifts in the world)
