Hall of Fame promoter Bob Arum has narrowed down the list of Manny Pacquiao’s opponents to just three:

Unbeaten Edwin Valero has been dropped as the Venezuelan has entered a drug rehabilitation facility in the city of Merida after a nasty incident involving his wife and medical personnel.

said Arum from his Las Vegas home yesterday, sounding disenchanted that the heavy-handed fighter has fallen off the radar screen among possible Pacquiao foes.

Still, Arum said something concrete could come out in the second month of May, shortly after Pacquiao’s foray into politics. Pacquiao is running for congress in the lone district of Sarangani province against Roy Chiongbian, a US-educated businessman who comes from a very influential political family.
"We’ll know after the (May 10) elections," said Arum, who said it is very highly possible that he will make a trip to the country in the final days leading up to election day.
"I know I can’t say something and campaign for Manny but if Manny needs me, I will come," said Arum, whose outfit Top Rank has Pacquiao under its promotional banner.
While Arum has rattled off Margarito, Marquez and Mayweather as those being eyed to face off with the Filipino southpaw, the seventy-something lawyer from Harvard believes Pacquiao and himself should concentrate first on the elections.

While the Margarito matchup would be an interesting one, I don't think he's earned the right to make that kind of money just yet.

Its gonna be Margaito , its a nap , Floyd isnt budging on the tests , Manny isnt budging on the demands , Manny has another good pay day against another legit dangerous fighter , its gonna happen , the difference between Pacquiao & Mayweather is Manny will go out and fight these type of fighters for the lesser but still valuable payday , where Floyd always wants to maximise the money with little risk involved , obvioulsy Shane Mosley does not fall into that bracket but Floyd was backed into a corner and had to make some sort of effort to back up the claims he's still P4P #1 , if he did not take the Mosley fight a lot of loyal Floyd fans would have turned there back on him and Shane was the best payday available too .

Absolutley agree'd , Pacquiao will slaughter him , but the rankings are there big man , Margarito is legit , he falls under the top rank umberalla which for me puts him favourite , Bob Arum has ways of making fights happen i think Margo will have two outings before November and by then he will be re legitimised (is that a word ) and the fights on , the man is good at what he does .......................

Do i think this fight will be competetive ???? No , do i think Margarito is a legit opponent ??? Why Not , look its simple , Arum just makes fights happen and Pacquiao rolls with it , because thats the way the guy is , he doesnt want politics and arguments he just wants to fight , Margo imo fits the bill and the with the fight possibly being @154 it represents yet another feat / achievement for Pacquiao ,

margarito and marquez fights are pointless fights at this point in pac's career. options should be mayweather, mosley, or bradley.

I want him to fight winner of Mosley-May. The rematch can wait if ever Mosley wins. He should finish fighting at 147 first before he consider moving down to 140, then retire.
