Vic Darchinyan has signed on the dotted line for the Nonentity Donaire rematch on 21 August, not 7 August as reported elsewhere. The fight will take place in Los Angeles. Vic will take a tune-up in May against Indonesian Angky Angkota. Nonentity will also take a tune-up in May. The likely opponent is a one-eyed pirate from Treasure Island or one of those guys who hands out business cards for hookers on street corners in Las Vegas.
So if they have like ten fights and Donaire wins nine, are those going to be flukes and the matter really decided by that one Vic win, or would you be willing to give Nonito a shred of credit at that point?
Finally one of the great match ups in the lower division is going to happen. Nonito can't be a nonentity when Vic himself is calling out Nonito.

You might be thinking of Michael Katsidis. He is the Australian with Greek heritage. He's really pretty good - but noone will ever call him great. Darchinyan is an Armenian born Australian. He was in the top 10 P4P for a while, and is the first man in history to unify his division - so if you really think he isn't any good that means you have **** for brains. Vic has a great attitude towards fighting, and he has wanted this rematch for a long time. Every fighter should take lessons in how to be ballsy from Vic. I think he will do a little bit better this time around - but the result will be similar. Donaire is just a perfect stylistic mismatch for Darchinyan, his crisp counters will **** Vic up badly and all night long. Donaire gets a bad rep here, cause he has a shitty attitude, and he lets his trophy wife get all mouthy on his behalf (trophies are for looking at, not listening to). Vic is mouthy too - however, unlike Donaire, Vic has taken on the big fights to try and prove himself. Donaire has had his career stagnate something awful. Yes, he should tell his wife to STFU - that is his personal responsibility, but his career problems stem more from an awful promoter. None of it detracts from the fact he is very skillful; and that he will likely beat Vic once again.
Don't you think Vic underestimated and was unprepared for Donaire the first time? I think Vic will make adjustments in the rematch and what a lot of people forget is that Vic is capable of being a superb boxer when he wants to be. He was outboxing a lot of very technical Cuban amateur champs when he was younger, I think this is definitely a winnable fight IF he stays disciplined but Vic is notorious for letting people get under his skin and having that affect his performance in the ring.
