I've always been a huge Roy fan but this is a sad pityfull end to Roy's career as he's become the bum in the bum of the month fight:-(

 

Roy Jones needs to fight James Toney again....this time in the octagon.

 

At what weight ?

 

Jones for me was one of the greatest fighters of all time. He is a bit long in the tooth now simply because it isn't nice watching a former great repeatedly get beaten. This latest fight is a joke and there is no way to sugar coat it.

although I dont go along with retirement for top tier fighters once they arent as good I think it shows whether they have grit r not and a diminished Jones can compete at a good level still, not a P4P obviously,

 

Sucks to live in an internet age..Iran Barkely ,Ray Leonard ,Muhammed Ali,Roberto Duran all fought long past their best ..the diffrence is right now we can see footage of Jones actually age day by day and trash him on mssg boards .When its all said and done more people will remember his brilliance as opposed to his pitfalls .

agree...he is freak in nature..for me the best defensive counter puncher ever..he is a defensive fighter yet he doesnt give a boring fight...but the point is hes done..he needs to retire already..just like morales...

 

RJJ is my all time favorite fighter he needs to hang em up and hopefully will after this fight.

 

Hes a proven cheat, he was disqualified for hitting a downed opponent TWICE, he absolutely and thuroughly ignored Hopkins the rematch while it was still hot.

He's just paying up, in karma, big time.


At the end of the day, I still respect his achievements, but he needs to badly retire, NOW. The things he could cruise on by having the unique athletic ability, is no longer a possibility for him.

 

No one wants to see a great champ like Roy get duffed up anymore & get used as a punchbag/KO'd by lesser mortals who he would have schooled in his prime & yeh when Duran got flattened by Hearns i was walking around in a coma for weeks & that had to be the end surely but
