lads im reading four kings by george kimball really good book anyone else read it?

 

Does anytone think Prunty should come to the ring for his next fight with a crown on?

Yeah class book i kept changing my mind who was my favourite as the chapters went by,I think it was Hagler but all four were legends for so many diffrent reasons and Kimball tells each side and story so well its like you were there.Also liked finishing a section then u tubing that fight.Great boxing book...

As Puca says Wilton needs an eight rndr - Its organised for 8th May in Belfast.

Luke Wilton vs Jamie Conlon is not the question at the minute, Kieran Farrell wants to fight either for the Irish Flyweight Title, but can Farrell do Flyweight ?? He says on FB the best he can do really pushed is 8st 3lbs therfore he won't be boxing Wilton or Conlon.

Can Luke beat Jaime ? Well really it comes down to who trains hardest, at the minute I would say Luke Willton is putting in more rounds and traiing harder than Conlon but all that could change in the click of fingers.

What do you want me to say Wilton would tank Conlon ? It comes down to the camp, training and the fight night.

But back to Farrell the Irish english man from Lancashire, either of the Irish fly weight guys would beat him in a title fight, and to be honest I doubt it would get to the ring, Farrell will not make 8st and he has said it multiple times himself.

 

thanks for answering... i like luke and jamie... its good to see the city with two talented flys... but i would imagine it wont be too long before they fight.. the winner can maybe get a shot at bayaar- sexton winner...:thumbsup

 

Well lads just back from a hoilday there have been catching up on all the discussions cant wait to have a look at this prunty fella hes mentioned here alot. is the mccloskey fight happening in may? And its great to see 3 young hot flyweight prospects looking 2 go at it 4 the irish title, should be interesting to see who comes out on top.

 

In truth Prunty is raw as an uncooked chicken, having had no amateur experience and just 3 pro fights. He does however seem to carry a decent punch, always comes in, in fantastic shape, has been getting some fantastic sparring and is seemingly doing all he can to improve as well he can.

He's also got the flashy shorts, over the top rope ring entrance, a quality nickname('The Pimpernel') and Paddy 'The Pr Machine' Cronin behind him.
With the right fights I think he could become quite an attraction in Irish boxing and gain a decent fanbase. However far he'll go in this sport we'll see but I think he's destined to be a fan favourite.

That was 6 months after he turned pro(his 2nd fight),and also 6 months ago, he's had one fight since back in December. By right he should have improved quite a bit next time we see him.

 

The news letter it's a paper up this neck of the woods. The just started a two page spread on local boxing every Friday. Some good stuff in it

 

I was talking to Eamonn O'Kane who is good friends of mccloskey and mccloskey said it was the 1st he heard about the show in may so looks like someones got their wires crossed.

 

That is excellent news - when did the Newsletter start this? I will get it on a Friday from now on. That's the Irish News on Tuesday, Newsletter on Friday and then there is the regular updates from David Kelly in the Belfast Telegraph - can't complain about boxing coverage in the papers in the North:good

Carlos, did you say a while back that Eamonn is turning pro after the commonwealth games...? He would know about Dudey alright as the two lads boxed under Vinny in St Canices and he follows Pauls fights very closely along with his dad Lawrence. Both lads sat front row at the last fight
