Louis for me. Hes the best hw of all time. The only thing he didnt have was a chin. His jab wud be stuck in tyson face and he wud catch tyson we bombs in the way in. Tyson cant take louis' power. Louis wud probably hav to get up off the floor though to win.

    Very touching.

I for one love Joe Louis and, if I am so lucky, will carry his torch into my old age.

In fact, he is a hero to me.

And I greatly admire Tyson's skills in the ring. He was one of a kind and worked to conquer the top. I empathize with him, but he is no hero in my heart.

Yeah... talk about reaching. That's what you have to do if you think it's clear cut that Louis beats Tyson though.

Yes, the punch was what put him down. The punch was every bit as you describe it.

But that was a solid bang with the head, but you want to say it "brushed". Honestly, if that was Holyfield instead of Tyson, most people here would be calling foul.

I think it's a reach to think it's clear cut that Tyson beats Louis. So there you go. The beat goes on! :good

    No, not reaching for anything.
The whole thing about "one punch KOs" (which I think you brought up, with no evidence to back it up) was a little tangent, and this conversation about Tyson-Williams is a tangent off a tangent.
Just discussion for the hell of it, I'm not traying to say anything about Joe Louis and Mike Tyson and their hypothetical result. That played itself out several pages ago.

This is actually a good quote, and on a side note, I have developed an interest in classic books, stories, and even collectables like ships in glass bottles... Do you have similar interests?

Of course, we can chat about these things elsewhere... I believe you've mentioned that you have a facebook account, and I would like to befriend you there...

Any Blackbeard v. Tyson thread needs to be started here though. :D

Obviously with Tyson's impetuous style and his merry band of nuthuggers here, Mr.Teach dont stand a chance.

Their heads clashed. Is that being disputed ?
I've never heard the expression "head brush" before.

 Yes their heads clashed but it wasnt as damaging as your making it out to be. The lefthook was a pretty good one and Williams was on his way down. There was nothing said of the heads coming together and it didnt appear to be any type of factor in the fight.

    :patsch

It was relevant, especially when people are try to bring from somewhere that Louis hit harder. Love the "No evidence" but I'll go on and use one of the examples you mentioned. Priceless.

It was reaching, deal with it. That left hook put him out. And if that head-clash was such an issue I can't imagine what you're thoughts on the Holyfield fight is. Tyson can't rammed with some, but I'm pretty sure you think Tyson was just a bull and that Holyfield out-fought him. Fine, but trying to degrade a hellacious one punch Tyson KO because of a slight bump of heads while Williams is going down sounds silly and desperate. It's like mentioning the left hook after the right hand that Marciano threw that made the "difference" with stopping Walcott. It's not even worth mentioning because it has no significance.

Nothing is clear cut, but if you were impartially watching the discussion you would see that the fanaticism seems to be coming from the Louis side. As if it's Louis that just can't lose.

Louis CAN be beaten, but this would be a harder fight then any of Tyson's, and probably vise versa.
If Louis can hurt Tyson and keep popping that jab in his face that will unmotivate Tyson to bob and weave if anyone can hit Tyson while he's bobbing and weaving it's gonna be Louis never seen someone so accurate with his punches
