Who never got a chance to fight for a title, yet deserved one.

If you want to make a list you can...

I will name Rodolfo Casanova... who should be a top ten Mexican ATG...

His resume includes wins over Molgast, Armstrong, Miller, Zurita, Conde, Dado, Newsboy Brown...

He never fought for a belt.... and could arguably be a top ten bantam weight ever.

Tua fought for the belt, but he is a guy who should have been champion, especially since Ruiz and others won the belt.

I dont think Tua should have been champ, when better fighters like Holyfiled, Tyson and Lewis on the scene. Great contender, but failed when he got his chance.

Quarry had a shot at Joe Frazier's title.

He also had a shot at Ellis'

    Mike Gibbons

    Jeff Smith

I dont think Tua "should" have been champ. He got his shot and it was a winnable fight for him but as soon as he got hit and decided to take the payday and not try to win. One of the worst fights ive ever seen.

Jerry also squared off with Ellis for the vacant WBA championship.

The undefeated Packy McFarland tops my list, and Charley Burley is obvious. Langford and Wills are clearly in the mix, while you can add a number of Burley's rivals on the Black Murderers Row.

From the 1970s to the 1980s, one had to good just to be considered for a shot at the undisputed MW championship. James "Hard Rock" Green, Dwight Davison, Curtis Parker, Willie the Worm, the Cyclone, Sugar Ray Seales, Frank "The Animal" Fletcher, David Love, Tony Chiaverini, Tony Braxton, Sammie NeSmith, Mike Colbert, Marcos Geraldo, John Collins, Robbie Sims, Ernie Jackson, Charles Carter, Ralph Palladin, Mark Holmes, Mike Nixon, Clint Jackson and Don Lee were not able to pass the threshhold necessary to cross through to obtain a shot at a world championship.
