60/40 was being nice...I have never ever ever ever ever ever ever during that period in time heard about someone rushing to see Bhop fight...never. Let alone him being on PPV...He's always been the opponent...even as champ.
I'm not omitting things, I haven't seen the clip for probably the best part of 2 years, if I'm wrong then fair enough. And I don't dislike Jones at all.
:yep Now that Roy is no longer in his glory and is mere shadow of himself, all of sudden Hopkins is eager to get him in the ring, I hope just one more time Roy puts on a clinic and whips Bernard's ass.
Anyone think this fight could be fixed? Look at this image, it will answer all your questions. http://www.life.com/image/98221475
People here must think Roy was something other than a legend in his own mind if they think he should have gotten anything more than 50/50 vs Hopkins. At the time Roy Jones had ducked and dodged EVERY single person who was capable of giving him a decent fight within 20 lbs of his weight division. Hopkins was coming off a career defining win which saw him anhilate Roy Jones proposed opponent. Jones wasnt selling out PPVs in fact he wasnt even filling 5000 seat arenas to fight part time fighters like Glen Kelly, Derek Harmon, etc etc. Roy had no opponent other than Hopkins because he had already refused to fight Jirov, Michalczewski, and anyone else with a pulse. Whereas with Hopkins you had a guy who had made a record number of title defenses, was the undisputed champion in his division (Roy claimed the same thing but seeing as how he refused to ever even mention DM who was the lineal and undisputed champ before Roy ever hit the division its a pretty bogus claim) and had actually been facing warm bodies in the ring. Keep in mind that Hopkins had been trying to get a rematch with Jones since AT LEAST as early as his defense against Simon Brown. So Jones nuthuggers can step off that bull**** about him being the draw etc. Being a roided up HBO house fighter does make you a draw. Yeah I said it, wanna say Manny Pacqiaou is on roids then look no further than Roy Jones who weighed as low as 154 lbs of lean muscle in his day and went all the way up to 210 pounds of solid, lean muscle without an ounce of fat... Anyone who doesnt think thats roids needs their head examined.
The fans still love Roy Man.................................. People still love the guy...... Come on Roy, lets do it again.....!!!!!!!!!
