lol looks like there some under estimation of froch , froch going to ko abraham i can guarantee you all, abraham going to face a powerful supermiddle weight and will be discourages after the 2nd round and look for a way out trust me, i say froch knocks out arthur in about 4 rounds, and i wager anyone on this, look at my predictions please, froch will clib and club till arthur drops, the hardest fight for froch like i say agin is ward dirrell and green the slick ones green is strong also!!
That was a bit silly! I can see Froch making things very uncomfortable for AA, but taking him out early is one scenario I think is way off base.
actually, I don't see it happening, but it certainly could be a war! In my mind, it could be similar to Miranda I. Miranda was incredibly aggressive and was teaing off at Abraham... who felt he needed to punch just to get him off. The fight before the break of jaw was hell of a fight! I think we may see something similar unless Kessler completely destroys the strongman from England, something that is certainly within possibility.
I'll throw in my own observations, I didn't record the fight so this is strictly off of memory. I still think Abraham is a murderous puncher at 168. Most of the bombs he threw Dirrell was quite successful at rolling them(something Froch does not do so well). The main reasons why I still think Abraham is still a massive puncher is for one, all tournament fighters recognize him as such and, two, the shot that Abraham knocked Dirrell down with and hurt him with was also rolled...it was just a clipped shot that really bothered Dirrell. As an AA fan I was concerned about his chances going into this fight if Dirrell came out and used intelligent movement. In my opinion (and this is just a respectful disagreement booradley), Dirrell's jabs were the least of Abraham's problems. In my opinion, Abraham's biggest problem was a combination of Dirrell's quick combinations and sharp movement. There were multiple times when Dirrell would throw a combination upstairs involving a looping hook around the guard, then he'd deliver a body shot, and then promptly turn him taking advantage of AA's footwork. Froch typically doesn't turn people after throwing a combo. His other big problem in the Dirrell fight was that Dirrell is a better counterpuncher as you pointed out. Dirrell caught him on counterpunches a lot when AA opened up. Dirrell's clearly a better counterpuncher than Froch. And yet again, movement also played a huge role in that Dirrell's movement prevented AA from working his combinations. Though AA is a big puncher he wants to punch in combinations like anyone else, I think he'll be able to get Froch with more combos than he did against Dirrell. What the primary concern in the matchup with Froch is the unknown of how AA will deal with a big pressure fighter. Gevor is a pressure fighter at MW but AA was so much bigger than him and Froch in my opinion is always in great condition and can still put his foot on the pedal in the 12th. So it's certainly and intriguing matchup, but I still believe AA wins, but he absolutely needs to work the body early(something I thought should have been a priority against Dirrell).
Abraham will win it,Froch will be exposed by Kessler. As everyone is saying he is too easy to hit.Froch v Abraham will be the last fight Froch has at that level.
Three pages of respectful, thoughtful boxing analysis. WTF is going on here? I'll have to admit that after reading some of this I'm starting to drift more towards the Froch side. The size and pressure arguments are persuasive and AA may not be as heavy handed at the weight. Taylor's chin had been softened up already. Damned..... Just to bring us back to ESB reality can I wish for a double DQ?
Nice post and all good points. Dirrell did roll with most of AA's power shots, but he also got caught flush with several. I've always thought AA's power was a bit over rated. Ya -- he hits hard, but not as hard as some people claim. I'm not sold on his one punch power at 168. I still think AA will stop Froch, but I no longer believe it is a foregone conclusion. If AA lands a bomb, and Froch just smiles and waves him in, Arthur is ****ed!
Froch is gonna take him out late in the fight. Froch has the chin, power, stamina, and finishing skills, so when aa gets tired, it's his ass.
Even if you're not sold on his one punch power it's hard to imagine taking combos from him for 8-9 rounds. Which is what Dirrell did a very good job of, using his movement to keep himself from getting in trouble. I don't think Froch is going to do that. And even if he gets tagged early and waves him in, if he starts taking combos over and over again he won't make it(which I'm guessing is why you're picking Abe to stop Froch?). Obviously, this is all hypothetical, anything could happen in the fight and this is what I love about the super six.
I don't think Abraham has carried the same power up to 168. That said, I still think he stops Froch but only after proving to be tougher. It'll be a war until the end.
