Ironically enough, people are so conditioned to believe that the country wants a great white hope that any white U.S. heavyweight who might actually become champion would still be looked at as a hope and a media creation. It's the same thing that happened with Kelly Pavlik, who has the distinction of being viewed as a great white hope while still being the lineal champion and winning it via knockout in a weight class where all the other beltholders are white guys.

If white heavyweights were popular in the US, the Klitschko's would be megastars here. Instead, American fight fans had to watch a shitty internet stream to even catch Wlad's last fight.

David Haye is the divisions only real hope of heavyweight boxing becoming a world wide attraction again. Neither Klitschko brother has the personality or fighting style to get the american fans attention away from the UFC and into a boxing ring again. I'm so sick of Wlad doing his gay thumbs up or peace sign after every boring match he wins. It's time for a breath of fresh air, and that breath is coming from David Haye.
