The comparison is Jesus being beaten so thoroughly you couldn't even recognize him, like Jones may be. Not Jones being anyone's savior.

You got any better beleifs? I wouldn't be offended, but think anybody who believes in god would be interested to hear your view.
Not to jump on the religious track, but seriously....Just look around you, look how your body breaks, fades, heals, you breath (the oxygen you can breath), you eat, you digest, you see, hear. The human body, and things in this world are definitely to amazing to not believe in a higher power. Also, what about the amazing things even beyond our world?
Also, anybody whom knows things in the bible are amazed at how a book written so long ago...Could be exactly what your going through today. Your struggles, your sins, others lives reflect your own, speaking positively, having faith, giving. The Same principles found in the bible will work for you.
And yes, I do agree there are some *holes* in the bible, and grey areas, but ultimately the bible = Love, mercy, forgiveness, peace, faith. Nothing is wrong with these things, but what man, and RELIGION does with this book...The wars they rage, the hate they have that wasn't God's idea! God was all about peace not war. Love not hate. Forgiveness don't hold a grudge. Compassion not judgement.
Easter is about him sending his only son to die for OUR WRONGDOINGS. Do you see anybody perfect? Nope...Know why? Cuz it isn't possible. This is why Jesus had to die so that we may live. If any of us were God we'd have given up on the human race, and been so fraustrated that we'd have nuked this earth by now....
So, I'm not judging you, but asking you...What else ya got? Your going to get old, fade away, and your lucky if you make it to 100. Then where you go? What did you live for, and how did you live? These are some questions you should ask yourself before it's to late. Trust in something good, live a good/ right life, and possibly be wrong (then again maybe your right)? Or don't believe in anything, live however, have no vision or purpose, and then possibly be wrong? Think about it....
