Yeah but it didn't have an effect on the outcome of the fight. And a few of the times it happened because Ruiz had turned his back or ducked, couldn't really take anything away from Haye for that

    Hey Mush,

For what its worth (in other words if anyone cares about them anymore after their ****-actery), my buddy was in Macroom for a tourney last night and Luis Garcia and Alexei Acosta were there.

Signing autographs and taking oodles of pics with kids, and looking in fine shape. Garcia even smiling, a rare commodity as he is known for having a constant puss on his face. By all accounts, Hamish Thomas has them working very hard and doesn't tolerate the shite that perhaps Gary Hyde let them away with.

Gary was too good to them, so it's probably a shock to their system that Hamish puts up with no nonsense. He's running a very good ship at Watergrasshill Boxing Club by all accounts, all their kids were decked out in club colours and tracksuits last night, I believe. Encouraging.

    Mush,

Hamish Thomas brought over Kevin Johnson for sparring and Perez handled him with ease, I hear. Again, I'll take that on board with wariness, but signs are good. I like Perez, but he's murder for getting his hole (even though his lass is a honey), so if he could find some focus, he'll do well. Looks like he's back on track, fingers crossed.

I might join you on the Cuban bandwagon, give 'em one last bout of hero worship.

I must admit Garcia is an exceptional talent. When he was maggot-acting with Gary Hyde, he decided to act out by beating the lard out of that Argie at one of the shows in Cork (tis on YouTube). Gary told him to take his time and box, but he just went out with a puss on his face and nearly blew the fella clean through the ropes with his first punch. That was his way of rebelling against Gary - to KO a fella in one. Nice to be able to do act up that way!!!

Podge, Perez has been added to the Alio card in Belfast in May. I am looking forward to seeing him for the first time.

    Gasman,

He fights hands too low, can look a little fleshy, but he has real talent. Maybe a little short for the top boys, but you never know. He's as fast as Haye, no doubt.

Doesn't like getting hit himself - but reacts the right way. Kind of like - "You dare to try and mark up my pretty face? Here's two back in the face for you with interest, you cheeky *******."

    Podge,

I was surprised that the Cuban lads left Hyde to go down the road to another Cork native, I thought they were bursting to go over to the States etc. Also, do you know who is training Acosta? He was apparently getting trained in Belfast for while....

    Gasman,

I'm not sure tbh, but all three of them now have family in Cork so I presume that's why they are still there. Garcia even married a Cork girl. The three of them I think are training with Nicholas Cruz at the minute in Cork.

Hamish Thomas is not short of a few quid (a very successful businessman) and a boxing man through and through. He's no mug, and they're in good hands. Time to go to the next level.

I am very tempted to go to Belfast for Alio's show - I'd love to hang out with Ardy again, he's a diamond fella. We might meet up for a few at the show, Bren?

Oh, by the way, Hamish is a Scot - Ninebar will be happy to hear that!!!
