Has Haye won any of you lot over even a little bit?

Of course he was. He was eating single jabs and even double jabs from Ruiz. He lost 1, very possibly 2 rounds because of this. He was getting hit way too often considering how slow Ruiz is. Luckily he doesn't hit hard.

Yea, I heard this. I don't know what to say. I guess it offers some validity, but it's not like I've ever been incredibly impressive with his defense. Even Valuev caught him with the jab on occasion.

His chin is probably slightly better, but expect flash knockdowns if he fights any guy with power. He's balance is bad as is his footwork. He seems top tall. Like he lacks fluidity and strength in his legs. Could be deceiving to just having bad balance.

Maybe he'll adjust against them. But he needs to stand his ground against Wlad I think. He can't play counter-puncher on the outside. Just won't work.

I think he can be more aggressive, and more unpredictable with his attack while throwing more combinations while still having tighter defense, and superior footwork. I don't think he was too careful. He could've gotten him out of their even earlier.

No. He talked massive **** to both the Klitschkos until he pissed them off badly enough to fight his undeserving ass. Then he bitched out of both fights. **** that guy. Why should beating an over-the-hill John Ruiz win me over?

Yeah, Haye is good...fast hands, decent power and slick movement around the ring...tempered by the fact Ruiz's plodding style suited Haye. Hmmm not sure that we would have seen a stoppage had the huggin hombre turned up though. Looking forward to Haye meeting either of the Klit brothers...now that would be the real test for Haye.

it was a good fight but the only clear knockdown for me was the first. the others seemed sloppy. but he did batter Ruiz. i feel Wlad puts him to sleep but give him a very good chance against Vitali

Don't worry. He won't fight Wlad.

To answer the thread starter. I wouldn't worry about who on here he's "one over" or who on here he hasn't. The fact of the matter is as long as he's a heavyweigth that goes for the KO everyone on here is going to watch his fights and the server here is still going to crash shortly after they are finished. Same is it always does. I'd be more worried about him winning over the casual fight fight, which given his style won't be hard if he could just get on TV.

Food for thought: the huggin Hombre didn't show up for Roy Jones there either. THere is too much of a speed and movement difference between Ruiz and Haye for that to be an affective tactic.

NAh i think it will but only after the Vitali fight. if he does. he better study the Sanders fight. cuz trying to emulate the 1st Brewster fight would be suicide he's not durable enogh for that. but yeah i would say his best chance against Wlad is to try the sanders method and try switching up on him go Southpaw. against Vitali i think He could probally get him on cuts or out work him and make him retire on his Stool.

I say His best chance against Wlad are in the first 2 rounds . so i got Wlad beating him

    A question.
If you could only attend one fight, would you watch a typical robotic Kiitschcko , two slobs cuddling or a David Haye fight?

Or does that focus the mind on what the HW division has become a little too much?

I'm guessing that the non-replies are an admission that Haye is probably just a little bit more exciting to watch than most.

Haye didn't have to win me over. He is generally a very exciting fighter who I will continue to watch. I'm glad he got Ruiz out of there, but Ruiz did show some true heart in there.
