From what I've read on the rnd to rnd thread, they brought out the worst in each other and this fight shouldn't erase Jones moving up to HVY to beat Ruiz or Hops 20 title defenses. That being said I wish never to see them fight professionally again unless it's old fights on DVD.

Of course he will. Roy will always be loved by the boxing public for his sensational style in his prime -- it's the same sensational style which caused him to fade so quickly. But even after his humiliating defeats in the latter part of his career, everyone will remember just how phenominal and dominant Roy was for over a decade. Bernard's style on the other hand, though it has allowed him to continue well into his mid-forties, has done nothing to endear him to the public.

yes Jones still has a better career, but if Hopkins wins a heavyweight belt against Haye than Hopkins should. But it's not going to happen, DO YOU THINK HAYE WILL TAKE A FIGHT SEEING HOW ****EN DIRTY HOPKINS WAS TONIGHT? HELLLL NO.

I still like Hopkins, even after the **** he pulled in the ring tonight, Roy Jones is still my favorite of all time.

Well to be honest Jones in a way redeemed himself. he wasnt dropped or hurt and Hopkins was doing his usual theatrical performances to catch a breather like in the Calzaghe fight. Jones did a hell of a lot better than Pavlik did and Tbh i wouldnt mind seeing Jones fight some Up and comers in the division. Hopkins however is never easy to watch and altho he can perform on a higher level tries to spoil all the time.

I have to respectfully disagree with you. Hopkins defeated Trinidad, De La Hoya, Winky, Pavlik, Tarver (as a 5-1 underdog), and Jones. I think that Jones could have had the better legacy had he fought Michelshewski, Nigel Benn, or Steve Collins but other than the Toney victory (which was huge) and the Ruiz win, he never really dared to be great.

Please. Four of the five guys on your list were moving up at least two divisions from their best weights, and the other one (Tarver) was coming down from Heavy a la Jones, and wasn't that great of a fighter to begin with.

Jones never tried to cheat a win and has never used dirty tactics. He done better things than beat up smaller men, he moved up and fought bigger men.

Hopkins should put his shitty gimp mask on and **** off.

You listed Oscar and Tito two of wich were smaller men ..Dared to be great Jones was a small man fighting natuarlly bigger men for his whole career .Pavlik was to green his legacy hasn't been cemented yet your using this as the what makes Hopkins legacy better than Jones ?

The Michelshwski fight would have never of happened because the travel issue on both ends ..

And the Collins and Benn fights have been well documeneted around here as to why that never materialized ..Outside of that Jones owns Hopkins in accolades ..Thats just my opinion ..I respect your but had show my disagreement .

Done to death already.... Hopkins dominated 1 (poorish) division for a looooong time then moved up and took out some good names late on in his career.

RJJ showed great skill and ability and rose through the division over a period of years (fighting many bums) and fighting some good opposition like Toney. His best acheivement is winning MW and also HW titles..... so for that and his more endearing style he propbably ranks higher than Hopkins ATG status.... although personally I like Hopkins more, i like that crafty/cheating side of him.
