    The Pavlik/Martinez fight is now less than two weeks away [Less than 24 hours now.] Reading many of the posts on ESB, and articles on the internet, might lead one to believe that Sergio Martinez is equal to Ray Robinson, Tommy Hearns, Carlos Monzon, and Pernell Whitaker all wrapped up in a single package. I'm calling bull****! Pavlik/Martinez is a mis-match, and Martinez is going to take a career ending beating.

    That's certainly quite possible.

    It's also possible that Kelly's career gets ended. Martinez doesn't even have to win for that to happen; he just has to look good.

    You bringing this up now wouldn't have anything to do with the two old farts who just put on a stinker, would it?

    Because nobody's forgotten what Pavlik looked like against one of those old farts.

    What is the logic behind this? If Martinez looks good in a fight where he has a stylistic advantage yet still loses Pavli's career is ended?

    Or to put it another way Pavlik struggles with a world class fighter, an excellent boxer, and his career is ended?

    Sounds odd to me.

    I have it 50-50. Pavlik either finds him and catches him with those heavy hands or Sergio moves and counters with precision.

    Ive been starting to doubt my Pavlik pick, not so much because i think Martinez would beat the Pavlik that weve seen, but that i dont know how Pavlik will perform being out of the mix for so long and all the problems with his hand and all that, i dont know.... we will see. I got Pavlik by UD or late TKO but i sure hope hes working his ass off in training camp.
