Haye loads badly on his punches to produce any kind of meaningful power. A world class boxer like Wlad will see those punches coming. And when Haye lounges in against either Klitschko, he'll get timed and countered. And Haye can't take a punch to give one. He had to fight a safe fight vs Ruiz who is definitely not a power puncher. Imagine Haye fighting from distance against either Klitschko. Because he showed today he doesn't really like inclose fighting. Now... that in itself is a recipe for disaster. Because it's just a set up, for Klitschko to use their jab and time you. Wlad may have a weak chin, but... Wlad's jab is more powerful than any of Ruiz's power punches. A lot faster too. And from the very few times in which Ruiz hit Haye you could see that Haye wasn't confortable.
I was quite impressed with Haye's elusiveness at times, some lovely slips and rolls off the ropes, he showed some great reflexes in there. Granted, it was only Ruiz, but no other HW has that type of skill. Whether he beats the K's or not, you have to give him credit for moving up and creating some real waves, it is so refreshing to see a fighter in the division with a powerful, speedy and classy skillset, not some plodding, slow Euro with no power. And to write him off against the K's is just silly. Vitali is the easier fight in my mind, there is a gulf between them in terms of speed and skills, and in his last two fights he has proven a level of maturity and ability to stick to a gameplan that makes this fight at least winnable for him. Wlad may be more difficult, but Wlad has never in his career fought somebody like Haye.
Thanks but this will not change my opinion. Rabbit punches are very dangerous and they are not legal punches! Haye throw them with intention! So he is the ****ing idiot not me.
how about Wlad's left hook on chambers? I think Haye looked good but sloppy last night. When he missed, he missed wide and it took a lot of energy away from him, but when he connected, it was crisp and punnishing :hey
you have a point but unfortunately for you, so does he... ... haye admited the rabbit punch was a cheap shot and he threw a lot more of them throughout the night so i can undertand why your slating Haye for it, but if you think they where the only descent shots Haye landed then you are obviousely very biased.
Haye can bang, no doubt about it. He's quick, and quite explosive. However, he's not the hardest puncher. It's all relative anyway. Any heavyweight should have KO power given an opening, just the better ones are able to find these openings in other fighters, and avoid being hit flush!
I guess you've only seen Hayes last two fights? Both have been from the back foot, but from his last two performances alone (if you watch all his previous bouts), you will see that Haye can definitely change his style, and has changed his style. Wlad will be very cautious if this bout happens, unless Wlad gets Haye in trouble, he will not take risks in throwing anything other than the 1-2. Is every boxer not angry at there opponent in someway? They want/need to do damage to them, so they must produce or use some sort of anger to inflict on there opponents? Also, a very angry boxer can either be a dangerous boxer, or a wreckless boxer. Wlad does not have perfect footwork! But I definitely think Haye needs to improve his defense, and try to take away Wlad's jab. Maybe by catching him early to make him wary of throwing.
That´t right. But Haye will not connect on Wlad. Haye is open and sloppy when he throws his punches. Wlad is a superior boxer with great defence and offensive skills. But for the Fans it will be a very good heavyweight Champion bout. I hope the fight will happen in the future!H
haye hits very hard but he has a very bad defense. he wouldn't catch wlad like this, and wlad would catch him, i can't see the haye wlad fight taking longer then 5 rounds, only if haye will run.
I don't think that Wlad hits harder, he generally wears opponents down before letting his hands go late on in the fight. You don't see KD's like the one in the first round from Wlad very often but that may be due to his mentality more than anything. Tua clearly hits harder though I would say, but there is no shame in that. Tua has to be one of the hardest heavyweight punchers ever. Arreola, Haye, Wlad and Tua are all very hard punchers.
