Chris Eubank was well past his best and he still didn't KO him, who are these quality boxers Joe KO'd?
Roy Jones admitted Joe was t6o big of a risk in his day, Hopkins backed down in the 11th hour, Johnson refused to reschedule after joe's crippling back injury, Toney ate his way out of Joes grasp, Collins retired, Nunn ducked him, Ottke was petrified, Pavlik ducked him twice, Dawson ducked him by fighting old man Tarver, annoucing a rematch the day before Joe's decision to retire, forcing Joes hand, Chad knew this and used his get out of jail card to duck joe...I could go on and on, but that tells its own story. Eubank is always in top fighting condition, that version of Eubank would beat 99% of SMW's today and Joe was still green. RJJ proved an old adage that great fighters have one last great fight in them, his was against Joe, but his best wasn't close to a shot Joe who devastated him. Lacy was a monster till Joe destroyed him, and Calzaghe beat Reid with a broken hand for 11 rounds. Hopkins never relied on speed or power, he relied on ring guile, he only beat up blown up ww's, and by the time he fought Joe, he was peaking, as proven by his greatest win against unbeaten unified MW champion Pavlik soon after Joe. Joe also had to step up to a new weight, Joe was shot, Joe was in a hostile enviroment for the first time against the p4p 4 at his natrual weight, he then decimated him for 9 rounds once his nerves went. Joe Calzaghe is an ATG fighter and as far as anyone will ever know, unbeatable, as no one has a blue print to beat him. smooch
Oh you are such a girl. Joe would give Dirrell fits. It'd be a tedious fight as Dirrell raced around the ring, making Joe look awful, but losing every round clearly. The pace Joe would set would have Dirrell gasping and taking a thorough beating in the championship rounds.
Talking about joe coming out of retirement, Dirrell would KO him inside 10 rounds. A prime Joe? Well, I don't think Calzaghe has faced boxer fighters like Dirrell and Ward. I'd say it really could go either way. Wouldn't be surprised to see Calzaghe taste the canvas a few times.
please.. all this from Dirrell putting a beating on a guy who was just stood there with his hands up... look how he folded under the pressure Froch put on him.. now times that by 10 and add 10x more skill that calzaghe would bring.. easy UD for Joe
Dirrells best rounds were 10, 11 and 12. Where did he fold? He was made a bit uncomfortable due to all the fouling, but look where the fight was held of course. But nowhere did he fold. He came out looking the superior fighter.
Joe couldnt out pace Mikkel Kessler. How would he out pace Andre Dirrell? Just accept the fact that your man has a weaker resume then a 26 year old Chad Dawson. He never proved himself against a young prime athlete like Dirrell even though he fought in the era of Hopkins, Jones and Toney.
Thats because he isn't black and American, yet he put the beat down on 2 ATg black Americans who were prime or near prime. Anyway, Froch smashed up Dirrell, I mean, yes it was close, but had Dirrell tried to fight, he'd have ended up like he did when AA clipped him, except around round 3 or 4! If Froch was a black American, he would be ear marked as a hall of famer already, thats the biasm of American journalism. 46 and 0
Dirrel by UD, he would just jab and move out of the way for 12 rounds. waiting for calzaghe to come close enough while dirrell is moving back, and then throw a quick punch and move. Basically what Hopkins was trying to do, but Dirrell is quicker and Calzaghe would be chasing getting jabbed and right crosses all night. The only time Calzaghe scores is when Dirrell is up against the ropes or is in the corner, and tht wont be happening in the first 8 -10 rounds.
atsch Calzaghes footwork is legendary, his handspeed like Pacs... I mean tis is just the most preposterous post on this thread from someone not in MI :dead
Half of most experts ATG top 10 is white. Duran is one of the most popular fighters ever and he was neither black nor American. FAce it, your boy isnt rated because he didnt fight anyone. And the only 2 good fighters he fought were in their 40's and past it. Joey should be honored if he cracks the top 100 honestly. Chad Dawson has a better resume then Slaps and he's only 26. Dirrell stood and fought in the 10,11 and 12. And had Froch hurt atleast once. If he had fought that way the whole night Froch gets stopped. Froch is poor and a brutal KO waiting to happen. If Froch was black American he'd have defense and be fast. Not the slow plodding cavemanesque boxer he is now. As someone once said "Dont trust any fighter with an undefeated record, it means he hasnt fought anyone"
