He wasn't even warned once last night about his hit and hug tactics ?
Not even one warning is amazing really it's like everyone just ignores boxing rules when it comes to bhop/hatton.
Do the rules of boxing cease to exist when Hopkins steps in to the ring ?

Because he describes himself as "old school" and "crafty". I'm pretty sure the boxers he idolizes didn't spend all fight, doing as little fighting as humanly possible, like Hopkins has.

agreed, i haven't seen this fight but he's used up all his "old school", "old man", "respected", blah blah excuses for his fighting style. he fights negatively, cheats like a mother and gets away with it because he's respected. for a guy who whines constantly that "the man" is trying to keep him down "the man" lets him get away with murder

All depends on who's the ref. Pretty simple. Klit's been doing it for years.

its interesting that even mod here removed my angery thread about hopkins lol

but man come on, all his headbutts and low blow, why is always getting away with it

and dont give this he is sneaky bs,

this is not 1907 all the refs watch boxing and everyone see the tons of fouls he commits
and yet the next fight the refs watch him do it again and take no action

or call it an accident like the 36th headbutt he threw yesterday...

also what is annoying is that when he is fouled back, he starts crying and acting like a beaten up girl....

what the hell is old school about that???

and i think the fact that he allowed to get away with all these fouls has helped his career a lot

dont belive get head butted and see how you feel

The true irony is that Hopkins spent years talking about how old school he was and how "the man" was keeping him down and played it up so well that alot of fans believed it. All the while, Hopkins was pulling the illusion to end all illusions. The man wasn't holding him down because he's been the ****ing man all along. His matchmaking choices throughout his career were nothing short of brilliant. His negotiating tactics maximized his earnings and his advantages on fight night. He's been able to get away with more cheating in the sport while still having a good reputation than any other fighter I've ever seen. And, even with all this, he's still got diehard fans that excuse every loss he's ever had and punish other fighters for doing the exact same thing.

He's a great fighter with great accomplishments, there's no question of that- but he's a better businessman. He's had the wool pulled over alot of people's eyes, but it wasn't until the Jones rematch last night that more fans finally started to see through it.

Really? So, Ricky Hatton, Rocky Marciano and Jerry Cooney must have all been white only on the outside?

Ethnicity has nothing to do with it. The case is to be made with how skilled of a cheater someone is. Hispanic, Latino, Black and White fighters all cheat. The best get away with it. Point blank.
