Calzaghe vacated the WBC belt to go up and fight Hopkins in the US. Froch was only British Super-middleweight champion then. Not even on the radar.

Clinton Woods was not even a champion during Calzaghe's brief spell at Light-heavy.

At least he did travel, 3 times. Which is 3 times more than Hopkins and Jones travelled combined.:rofl:patsch

Hopkins's resume is stronger, any serious boxing fan knows it. End of story.

Yes, Calzaghe is undefeated but Hopkins resume is MUCH better.

Anyone who knows anything about boxing and doesn't defend a guy who waited until the legends were old to fight them. That's the difference. That's why I 'dare" to have Hopkins rated MUCH MUCH higher than that overrated Calzaghe.

All Calzaghe has is the head to head.

On that basis, would you rate Winky higher than Trinidad p4p?

Hopkins was clearly past-prime when he fought Calzaghe though. He was 43 and he'd already lost twice to Jermain Taylor. The Hopkins of 2001 would have easily been able to cope with Calzaghe's high tempo, and not resort to stealing breathers either.

    Calzaghe also beat
    Reid
    Woodhall
    Brewer
    Mitchell
    Eubank
Veit (undefeated) who holds a win and loss to current WBO LHW champ Braehmer
    Starie
    Sheika
even Mkrtchyan became Euro champ after Joe beat him

Just a note, 4 of the names you put on Hopkins list were people who had to come up in weight to fight him
