Anyone else agree. Rafeal is playing up the Hopkins victory like it was somewhat legit. Saying how Hopkins got his revenge. That's just one example. He also says how Haye would be an easy KO for Wlad or Vitali. Just a total nuthugger. I can't believe people read his bull****. ESPN as a whole is garbage.
Fat ******* is very irritating, but he frequently comes up with important "insider" information. As long as he still has some of the best "connections" in boxing journalism, we'll have to put up with him.
People aren't going to look back at this fight as anything significant. It is at about the same level as Holyfield-Tyson III as far as significance. Rafeal is a douche when it comes to supporting fighters. 4 years ago all Rafeal seemed to do was rip on Wladimir for being china glass. Now he pretends like he has been preaching the word of Wlad since the beginning. As bad as he can be, he is still a hundred times better than Kevin Iole
I agree. He's got some knowledge, but he don't know how to use it, especially not in relation to his job. He is too biased and he can't put the pieces together because of this.
He is quite annoying but he's only doing his job. He's got to be opinionated so people discuss his column...like we're doing right now.
If you think dan rafael is bad listen to what SKip Bayless says about boxing on first and ten. He makes Rafael look like a supreme expert
Haye wouldn't be an easy night. While I still pick Wlad over Haye, it wouldn't be an easy night. It would be one of if not his hardest fights ever. Vitali would look very old against Haye. But this topic is for another thread. The point is, a lot of these journalists seem to be dumb. Maybe they make their money off of controversy. I just feel a lot of people on this board have better opinions and more knowledge about fighting than he does. It really makes you wonder how easy it is to have a job like that.
Seems pretty stupid, but he's not the only one at it. I dont understand why all the major boxing journalists dont just slag off a match-up like this. Maybe they're afraid of burning bridges with GBP and being snubbed in future

I don't know about revenges or ESPN partiality but I find it funny why people don't consider the other side of the scenario - if Dan Rafael says Bernard got his revenge because that's what Bernard the prizefighter said after the fight, what should we say about Roy Jones who predicted to have Bernard knocked out? Should we say that Roy is not a moron?
as far as jo urnalists go he's actually quite good. i am guessing you don't read dumb journalists opinions. just check out pti once in a while or around the horn.
