Did Jones still get the best of Hopkins?

I don't know what Hopkins was thinkin either. I mean, I understand what he was tryin to do, in the sense that he was takin breaks to regain his stamina, he would be able to go at Jones with hard flurries with knockout intention, but in so far as actin like a *****...when he was the one bein dirty...

I wholeheartedly agree. I think despite what the Ring and Yahoo's payed off, nuthugging journalists are writing about it, this fight was actually Jones' last hurrah. He looked like the man punking Hopkins, flexing to the crowd while one of the dirtiest boxers in the sport was on the canvas crying about an illegal punch. On top of that, I honestly didn't find Hopkins' performance that commanding, throwing a few punches then holding to stop Roy's flurries is not commanding, its a shameful win. Roy still owns Hopkins.

 

Bernard had an incompetent Ref that allowed him to take rest breaks through out the fight, with out the rest breaks Jones likely wins.

 

So to sum it all up for you "Hopkins is a dirty *****."

 

RJJ was the best to ever lace up gloves, so how could Hopkins achieve a meaningful victory at this stage? He went into the fight as a bottom-feeder.
