Haye is the real deal, but he may need a new trainer.

The guy has undeniable tallent and potential.

He is a huge puncher, has very fast hands, he is agile, he can counterpunch, and he moves around the ring very well.

But he can look like a complete amateur at times. Not amateur in the sense that he telegraphs punches, because he doesn't, but amateurish in his stance, and in the way he tends to move away from punches.

What I mean by his stance is that he is often standing too straight up for his style, which is why at times his feet are almost all the way together when he lets one of those garbage right hands that looks like a weak ass jab on his opponent.

And a lot of times he'll get close to the ropes, and lean back and away from punches. He won't be able to make these kinds of mistakes against a puncher like Klitschko, who MAY be able to time him and hit him with a double jab and a long right hand, or if he gets too close to the ropes, a left hook.

But the one thing that I really wanted him to do against Ruiz is GO to the ****IN BODY. Everytime he went to Ruiz's body, Ruiz dropped his hands, and was open for huge punches upstairs.

As of right now, I still think he can beat Wlad, unless Wlad grows a chin, but he'll lose against Vitali. Because while Haye hits very hard, I think Vitali is tough enough to take his punches, but I'm not sure Haye is ready for Vitali's attacks.

He might just need a new trainer.

Was there any substance to the Roach rumours not long ago? What a combination that would be!

I do agree with you, his footwork, ring movement and defence, still isn't at the level it needs to be

He will need roach b4 he steps in wit the klits. i say another fight or two, so people gonna have to wait, and then he will fight a old vitali, then the big fight wit wlad. so the tune up fight will probably be with the winner of arreola and ademek, and maybe chambers

One of the things I have never understood is the fact that the most talented british amatuers never get any decent trainers. If Khan had a trainer like Roach from the begining he would be a better fighter than he is now and undefeated. Haye would be a much better technical fighter, hell even Froch would be better schooled.

US boxing may be no longer as dominant as before but the best training and sparring is still US based. The best talents should go their to maximise their potential but few amateur stars if any seem to make the right decisions in regard to the quality of their trainers.

The problem is, the closeness of his camp is probably the secret to his success, and Booth is a big part of that.

B-Bomber, in my opinion your partially right....Brighton is a nice name (**** holiday spot, no sun)....

Seriously, talking it's different styles. you cant say that "PHILI" style beats all else. Athleticism and skills also come in... Froch would probably give up ddue to completely different style,.

    Anyway F.it.

We all have our own opinions, and that is a good thing. I Like this V. Bookie thing not quite real, but interesting. I win a lot more.

    Cheers.

He would have to get with nasim richardson. Richardson is great at preparing a gameplan against a 1-2 stiff fighters. I don't know if he could physically deal with Wlad but Richardson would give him the best game plan

I was under the impression that an agreement had been reached that when he gets a Klit fight Roach would be brought into the Haye camp in an "advisory capacity", which I think means would go watch tapes of Klits, see what they do wrong and tell Booth and Haye what they need to do.

Perhaps Freddy Roach could help him here to develop a darting power style. I would say Emmanuel Stewart but he is with the Wlad and Teddy Atlas is tied to Potvetkin.
