thats a bold statement. (and not just because formatted it in bold)

I've seen him fight a few times and he looks flat footed, slow and throws single punches.

    But Dan, he's Scottish. That means you're a racist, anti-Scot *******.

He is a slow coach...thats my main problem with him. He seems to have very little athletic quality. He has this awkward style which is all very well, but how likely is that to work against top middleweights with a lack of speed and reflexes?

I don't even see him in the top 5 of upcoming middleweight prospects so I find it tough to imagine him becoming a Scottish great.

Is he better than Danny Jacobs, N'dam N'jikam, Matt Korobov, Gennady Golovkin or Dmitry Pirog? Is he even better than our very own Matt Macklin or Darren Barker? I have grave doubts.

The answer is 'no'. He's decent, but nothing special in any way, shape or form. Isn't he in his late 20s too?

I have not seen him fight but have heard he is not that great and is probably just another Kenny Anderson.

Looks like you and I are the only ones who have faith in Craig, Dunky. However I am more convinced than ever that he will make the grade. According to Freddy Roach he boxed brilliantly on Saturday night, against a guy who has really come on in the last year and who genuinely fancied his chances.
Here is a round by round account from ringside
    Chris Andrews vs. Craig McEwan

Round 1: The Scottish McEwan (trained by Freddie Roach, no less) starts out scoring some good punches on the face of the Canadian Andrews. Andrews is the taller man, but McEwan seems able to get in easily to begin with. Andrews seems to be stabilizing as the round wears on, but McEwan is busier and more accurate. Andrews lands a good left hook to end the round, but McEwan takes the round, 10-9.

    10-9 McEwan

Round 2: Craig McEwan has Chris Andrews looking like a bobblehead; every punch that lands is making him wobble his head big time. A good upstairs-downstairs combo lays some pain on Andrews. McEwan has Andrews on the ropes and is teeing off on his head, but Andrews clinches and referee Joe Cortez breaks them. Andrews attempts one more combo (and misses) before the bell.

    20-18 McEwan.

Round 3: Andrews has the height advantage and should be using it but he isn't. McEwan is pretty much landing at will. Andrews is a tough ****** but unable to launch a legit offense. McEwan shows heart and lands cleanly throughout.

    30-27 McEwan

Round 4: More of the same. Andrews can't mount an offense.

    40-36 McEwan

Round 5: And more of the same. You're not missing much right now.

    50-45 McEwan

Round 6: More of the same, except for a heated exchange toward the middle of the round where the two started to exchange. McEwan got the better but pushed down on Andrew's head, prompting Joe Cortez to correctly call it no knockdown.

    60-54 McEwan

Round 7: Andrews wants to stay right in front of McEwan, this is not good for business. Andrews' number one fan is barking "Come on Christopher!" in a voice so shrill it makes Roseanne Barr and Fran Drescher sound like opera singers. Another easy round for McEwan.

    70-63 McEwan

Round 8: Wish I had more exciting news to give you, but it's really more of the same. McEwan landing on Andrews at will. Finally toward the middle of the round, Joe Cortez mercifully waves it off, although that could have been done 3 rounds ago. Craig McEwan wins by TKO.

Your winner, at 2:11 of the 8th round, Craig McEwan!

it would be good to get craig on ricky burn's world title undercard although he needs to start fighting the likes of barker or a top 6 in the UK rankings fighter to see how good he is.well done craig!

I do wish Craig all the best and I hope he does become a great Scottish fighter. Hopefully he gets a few fights over in Britain for us British fans. Billy made a great call saying he would be nice to see on the Burns undercard.

Nah your wrong bud, I am on the wagon with the man. I remember him as an amateur, he could turn guys in side out and make them look stupid. He defo has good skills, dont know what his power is like these days, but looking forward to finding out. He would give all the best british guys problems, no doubt

I remember saying years ago on here that he wouldn't go anywhere. I still stand by that - in fact I'm more certain than ever.
