As expected former UFC heavyweight champion Tim Sylvia (25-6) will take on five-time World's Strongest Man champion Mariusz Pudzianowski (1-0) on May 21 in what will be the first event in the newly sanctioned state of Massachusetts. "Moosin: God of Martial Arts" is a pay-per-view event hosted by promoters Corey Fischer and (and event competitor) Eric "Butterbean" Esch set for the 15,000-seat DCU Center in Worcester. Many notables from the card, which includes UFC veterans, will take part in press conferences Monday in Boston and Tuesday in New York City. The media events are not open to the public. Sylvia returns to competition for the first time since his first-round TKO of Jason Riley at Adrenaline MMA IV in September. Prior to the fight, which came at super heavyweight, Sylvia had posted three consecutive losses, which included a UFC defeat to Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira, an Affliction loss to Fedor Emelianenko, and a disappointing nine-second knockout defeat to 48-year-old boxer Ray Mercer at Adrenaline MMA III. :think
This could be another humiliating loss for Big Tim. It will be intersting to see him throw Tim around, I can't see Tim being able to defend him for long unless he lands some shots.
This may have already been discussed, but was there any reason for Pudz wearing what looked like quite heavy duty trainers in his debut, whilst his opponent was barefoot? Just looked a bit unfair watching him volley the poor ****er around the ring
strongest man or not, if sylvia loses then that means he's shot to ****. he has way too much experience and skill to simply lose by being overpowered unless hes seriously eroded.
Sylvia is going to make a living off of making MMA look like ****. Tim will probably lose... he's horrible.
Tim is gonna come into this fight more focused than ever, the only reason i could see why he would take this fight is to redeem himself someway in the eyes of people. Honestly i hope Sylvia wins but i could see Pudz Smashing him.
