Yes, like most here, I think Cuevas would crush Cotto. I can't see this one going past 5 rounds TBH.

If I put this fight in my mind of the Cuevas who was champion I see him knocking out Cotto in 4 rounds or so. Almost an easy enough fight. Bad style for Cotto.

Cotto in the late rounds? If Cotto starts backpeddling in this one he is doomed. Cuevas would relentlessly come foeward throwing bombs. Cotto would suffer the same fate as against Margarito, only worse. If Cotto gets into a no holds barred slugfest, like against Torres. It is very doubtful Cotto could recover from a Cuevas flush left hook. Bad match up for Miguel.

As much as I've always liked Cotto, this is yet another time to say he DOES NOT DO WELL IN H2H MATCHES. WHY AM I TYPING IN CAPS?...PONGSAKLEK WONJONGKAM.

I have Cuevas by brutal knockout before the 6th round. Cotto comes to fight, but eventually get's over powered by Cuevas..

If the highlighted bit is talking about skills, I agree with you T, but be that as it may, Cotto won't see past the halfway point.

Yes I mean skills. Also Cuevas was a fun fighter who gained from having a fan friendly style and no Internet.

I think if he was around today, he would be a Mayorga type character, and I think Cotto would be that level above him.

^ If Cuevas was around today in his prime form, and fought Cotto TODAY, then Cotto would get viciously brutalized....and i mean very viciously...Pre-Mosley Cotto gets KOed, Post-Margo/Pac Cotto gets killed...

Cuevas at his swaggering best would indeed be a handful for all but the very elite,. But Cotto has the tools to deal with Cuevas. But I would say that now with his confidence low, yes, Miguel would struggle.

I actually think Mayorga would knock Cotto out. Totally different fighter to Cuevas though.

I've never been the biggest fan of Pipino, but I do acknowledge his power. Miguel has been rocked by lesser hitters by far, it's no stretch at all to see Cuevas putting him out of business.

Cuevas of course is more refind than Mayorga, I am just playing Devil's Advocate, over hypothetical perceptions.
